Your Yuuki Is Awful

Say Kaname is her true love.

Not only did she emotionally cheat on him from the start of their relationship unnecessarily, she lied about how satisfying Kaname's blood was to the extent that he questioned her feelings for him and decided to leave her.

After he left her, Yuuki attempted to rekindle the relationship with the man who made Kaname decide to leave in the first place. Not only this, but she then decided to string Zero along despite not being in love with him and knowing she was just going to toss him aside as soon as she got Kaname back.

When she did get Kaname back, instead of telling him that he did in fact make her happy and trying to prove it, she decided to kill herself.

After Kaname died, she initially ignored him when he said he wanted her to be with Zero until she discovered she was pregnant, after which she decided to lie to Zero that she loved him so convincingly that he wholeheartedly believed it to secure a father for her child.

She even went so far as to have an unnecessary child with Zero to keep up the charade.

When she and Zero succeeded in making the world a better place, she intended to discard Zero when she brought Kaname back to life to live with her. She would also rub her disloyalty in Kaname's face despite him being her true love by presenting Ren, the proof of her infidelity, to him.

Your version of Yuuki is callous and cruel to both men, and I want nothing to do with her.

Zero's fans aren't the ones following a manga with the belief that the author is so incompetent at writing romance that not only did she have her heroine end up with the man she isn't in love with, she wrote a sequel focusing on the relationship between the heroine and the man she isn't in love with. But go off, I guess.

Recommend a book!

In English Literature class, we studied a book called Captain Corelli's Mandolin. I wouldn't have picked this book up of my own free will, and yet, I really enjoyed it.

In the spirit of this, I'd like you, fine denizens of the internet, to recommend me your favourite book! Any genre, any age group. If you enjoyed it, I want to read it too!

I read the first Warrior Cats book and was pleasantly surprised to discover that I liked it. A lot darker than I was expecting for its target demographic.

Now the question is, do I sink myself into the fandom as I read more, or is that too dangerous?

I truly believe that if Michael came back as Michael (not Jason) that he would have ended up with Jane. I know I’m biased bc I like him better than Rafael but after rewatching the earlier seasons I think it makes sense that Jane was in love with Michael more but had a good friendship/family relationship with Rafael. Because Michael came back as Jason and was still different from Michael even after his memories came back, we didn’t really get to see who Jane would choose.

Agreed. In my eyes, she didn't choose Rafael over Michael. She chose Rafael over Jason.

Writers can pretend that they've shown the audience that Jane is in love with Raf and would never choose Michael again, and they can pretend that having Jane say that Jason is the same Michael as he was prior makes it true, but the Jason/Michael hybrid that he became was not Michael, and on that front, they failed to show what they intended to show.

Three years.

Three years since he had said his final goodbye to the woman he had loved with his heart and soul. Three years since he had untethered her lingering doubts with a show of happiness. Three years since he had set her free to marry another man.

He hadn't attended the wedding. Not only because he wasn't wanted there (Rafael had never liked him, though Jane would have loved his support. They had been best friends, after all) but because he didn't think his heart could stand it. Despite what he had told her, what he had told Charlie, he still loved her.

He shouldn't have lied. Charlie is angry, spitting fury at him whenever he comes close (and he deserves it), but he will not abandon his child. He has to fight to see her, and he does, harder than he has fought for anything. When he wins, when he is able to hold his child in his arms, he is reminded of the child he was forced to leave behind. The child he had loved as his own, who had grown to view him as an interloper. Her child.

Three years.

And apparently, his happy fairytale ending with a family he has always craved is not the only one to be ripped away in such a short time span.

She is here, had been on a collision path with him until she came to an abrupt halt before him, his name on her lips.

Jane.

She has tears in her eyes. She tries to hold them back (and he loves her all the more for it) but when he asks what's wrong, she loses her composure. He knows that this is wrong, that she knows that this is wrong, but suddenly she is in his arms. She is telling him sweet words that he would never admit to needing. That she should never have gone back to Rafael. That she should have known that it wouldn't work out, that he wouldn't be able to overcome his fiery temper and his habit of lashing out whenever things went bad. Rafael had run where Michael would stay.

He wants to make her fight for it, as he had to fight for her, but it has been too long (and he doesn't want to do that to her, not really). He savours the feel of her in his arms once more, the way her fingers find a desperate purchase on his back as she sobs, the scent of her that hasn't changed at all and tells him he's home.

He wants to respond to her with those words that will never be forgotten, a promise to reply to her apologies, her tearful declarations of love (he wants to believe them, wants to with all his heart, but he wants the words when she is happy, not when she is hurting and desperate) but it is too soon. Too soon, and he doesn't want to destroy this before it can grow, reborn through the dreadful inferno that had come to melt his tranquil snow.

i will never not laugh at the imagery of erwin and levi literally being nile’s worst nightmare and im glad that the snk anime enabled it. they whisper in each other’s ears whenever he passes them by and everytime he hears the word ‘beard’ somewhere in there. or they stare at some part of his body in unison and he becomes self conscious… some day he is like “well at least i get laid and you don’t” and they just stare at him expressionlessly… and suddenly he understands. the horror visions invade his mind and he changes forever.
