“Bad people? Have you been listening to those old bats again? How cliche.” Pages flipped through velvet hands, each making it’s own crisp, clean sound. There was no need for rush, nor was there need to answer anymore then needed. But it was always fun to poke at the humans; their minds were so feeble and so easily manipulated. Why let it go to waste?
She lifted her head slowly, eyes meeting the small child—the demoness felt pity. To such a poor child, so blinded by the light of Lucifer’s revolution. Oh, the horror.
Maybe she could impale the kid to see how loudly she’d scream.
"Technically—yes. But we’re all bad in our own little way; lest we’d be perfect, helpless, obedient, child-making marionettes in the house. And you wouldn’t want to do that for your entire existence, would you?~”
Women were the easiest to fall; just for speaking back and refusing a man of anything gave them an instant ticket. The world was cruel, but the bible was crueler. One more to despise the land mortals and immortals walked on.
Clementine felt her head lower at the sound of the demoness's voice. She was a girl of shy obedience, often caused by her own meek nature. It was rare for her to defy anyone. This creature, demoness to be precise, would be no different, but something about what she said made her feel strange, as though she assumed that Clementine had defiance within her. That defiance was even possible. For goodness sake's, she was a little girl, after all!
Shyly, Clementine looked up, returning the demoness's gaze cautiously, as though afraid a mere glance would anger her. Her fingers interlaced in between her hands, nervously, anxiously.
"...I don't want to be bad..." Clementine replied through trembling lips, clearly in awe of the demoness's words. She was some kind of harbringer of death, perhaps. "Because hurting others' feelings is... that's what's bad." She continued. "I don't... want to hurt anyone's feelings. It... makes me feel sad when... they're sad." She finished, not sure what else to say. She had never really thought about being inherently bad. Well, she had, but she had never seriously acted upon it.
She never intended to, either.
