you know what? Fuck you. *turns your strong and stoic and serious character into a crying, traumatized, whimpering, curled up mess in the floor*
I'm watching one of the Chucky movies now, and I think it was the first one in the series I saw that traumatized me as a little kid, because I saw a snippet of it on TV when my brother was flipping through the channels.
Dolls freaked me out for years after that, but now it's more so the animatronic aspects and stuff like that that gets me.
The sudden increase and shift in tone from, "This family has tangible, real world problems." to "There is a demon inside of that kid." despite the abruptness, is actually fairly well done, because it spends a good part of the movie building up to it.
Watching The Deliverance, and compared to a lot of horror movies centered around families living in haunted houses/being haunted this one has a fairly, like, believable family dynamic.
The family feels like a family, ya know?
It's not a perfect family by any stretch of the imagination, but that's what makes it feel like they have actual chemistry.
I think it also helps that the house itself isn't this huge, grand building that's in the middle of nowhere and makes the setting feel too big for its britches; The house is small, you can hear the neighbors arguing through the walls, and it makes it feel cozier while also cramped in the kind of way that lends to a false sense of security.
You see it in the way Ebony checks around the house, the space is familiar to her, but she is conscious of physical, real world dangers like intruders.
Despite it being a new home, it feels like their space, which makes the invasion of something supernatural feel all the more insidious.
Also, just from a personal standpoint, the house they're in feels familiar to me, like, I've been in houses like that before on multiple occasions, 'cause I have family that live in similar style homes/neighborhood set ups.

i saw TWRP for the first time 7 years ago today, and that show changed my life. they were playing with NSP during a tour and before that show, i had no clue who they were. their positivity was infectious and i was hooked before i knew it. i am endlessly thankful to this silly band and their idiot frontman for filling me with inspiration and hope and for all the fans i've made friends with along the way!

On the Same Planet but in Different Worlds: Gazans are Humans Too!
Allow me to point out some of the blessings that people, unlike those in the strange scary world of Gaza, are inclined to take for granted and rarely do they reflect on:
Plenty of food, vegetables, and fruits.
Electricity 24/7.
Drinkable water 24/7.
No horrifying sounds of explosions, no head-splitting buzzing of Israeli drones in their sky, and no scary shaking of their houses because of the continuous bombardment.
No fear of ending up buried under the rubble of their cozy beautiful houses.
No scary thoughts about getting killed in an airstrike before drifting off at night.
Access to quality education for them and their children.
A plea from one family to another: kindly help me get my family to a safe place before I lose them forever. The situation in Gaza only moves from bad to worse. My family is stranded in the most hellish conditions ever, so I am dedicating to helping them evacuate to Egypt as soon as possible.
Join me in securing a dignified safe life for my family and a prosperous future for the children who have been deprived of education for a year.
Even worse, it seems they won't receive any education for another year at least as the ravaging cruel war continues and most Schools have been viciously and devilishly destroyed. Your support is a lifeline for my family and a chance for a better future for them. It is just too early for them to depart to heaven!
Please donate, reblog, and share.

🚨Don't stop helping🫶🍉
Moving from a house to a tent is a very difficult and humiliating matter, but you are now forced to live in this place and be satisfied with it, whether as a kitchen, a bedroom, or even a living room, and it may even include the bathroom as well.
What does it mean to live in a tent? It means that mosquitoes, ants, and flies will eat you on the one hand, and on the other hand that the intense heat will eat you, which preceded it
By the extreme cold too. It means that you will be afflicted with diseases, and it means that there is no privacy here, and there are no basic components, and it means a lot of hardship, fatigue, and humiliation.

### Urgent Appeal: Helping the Alostaz family in Gaza
#### Alostaz family:
We are the Astas family, a Palestinian family living in Gaza, under difficult and unbearable conditions. We are addressing you today with an urgent appeal for help, as we face a daily threat to our lives due to the ongoing conflict and lack of basic resources.
#### Our story:
My name is Momen Alostaz, and I am currently in Germany, while my family lives in Gaza. Our family consists of my dear parents, my brother Ahmed, his wife Iman, their two children Amir and an angel, my sisters Reham and Mnat Allah, and my brothers Karam and Bahaa. We are a cohesive and strong family, but the harsh conditions threaten our existence.
#### The situation in Gaza:
Life in Gaza has become a constant nightmare. Explosions and shelling occur daily, and water and food are becoming very rare. Children are malnourished, and adults live in constant fear of losing their lives at any moment. Every day is a battle for survival.
#### Why we need your help:
We are seeking fundraising to cover the costs of evacuating our family to Egypt, where we can find safety and stability. These donations will help us overcome this crisis and provide a decent life for our family. We want to build a better future for our children and continue their education, and we strive to achieve this through your generous support.
#### How you can help:
- **Donation:** Even a small donation can make a big difference. We ask you to provide any amount possible to support us in this crisis.
- **Share our campaign:** If you can't donate, you can support us by sharing our campaign with your friends and family. Each post increases our chances of reaching more people who can help.
#### Thank you for your support:
We value every help we give us. Your support is not only helping us overcome this crisis, but also gives us hope and strength to face the future. Thank you for taking your time to read our story, and for your support and generosity.
