Fandom: Kpop Demon Hunters (half gumiho!Celine AU, for the third week in a row!)

Warnings: Child endangerment (again, this is half gumiho!Celine AU)
Hana stood back, panting as she watched the dust from the gumiho's disintegrated body hang dazedly in the air.
Good riddance.
It had put up a fight, more so than demons usually did. It had weaponized the night, melting into shadows only to leap out in a whirl of razor claws and gnashing teeth as it tried to sever her and Sun-ok's limbs, a black hate bleeding from its eyes at every turn. But they were Hunters, and no demon's prowess in battle could equal their starlight blades.
From the opposite side of the clearing Sun-ok straightened and jabbed the tasseled end of her wol-do into the ground. "Finally," she huffed, still breathing hard. "Thought she'd never bite the dust."
Hana hummed, adjusting her grip on her sword and started to check the perimeter of the clearing, pausing every now and again to sweep her sword through a tussock or shrub. "Gumiho are like that." Her voice took on their mentor's cadence as her words rolled off her tongue. "If they want something, they lock their jaws around it and refuse to yield. This one wanted its life."
Sun-ok snorted. "Like it's life was worth living. Damn thing should thank us for putting it out of its demonic misery." She moved to peer into a hollow log.
From across the clearing Hana noted her limp where the gumiho had raked her calf. "Sunny-"
"Just a scratch, unnie."
Hana glared as she blindly swiped through another shrub. "'Just a scratch' doesn't bleed all over the grass."
Sunny glanced at the crimson trail behind her, swore, then continued to the log.
"Sunny!" Thwick! went Hana's sword through the grass. "Sit!"
"I just wanna look!"
Thwick! "And I just want you to stay conscious."
"Swear on the Honmoon; you and Mina with the coddling…"
Hana groaned as she swung her sword into a thicket as dense as Sunny's head. "It's not coddling! It's-"
A child's yelp cut off the rest of Hana's sentence.
She froze, sword stalled midway through the bush. "Sweetie?" She called, hurriedly pawing through the bush. "Its okay baby; we're here to help. The gumiho must have stolen her," she said to Sunny, just hobbling up as she parted the last of the branches. "Poor thing's probably-"
Her voice died. Sunny gasped.
There under the bush, backed against a the ancient trunk of a ginkgo, huddled a gumiho child. Fox-ears sprouted from her dark hair, claws glistened on her fingertips, and two bushy snow-white fox tails curled protectively around her as she stared up at the Hunters with terrified eyes.
Clearly, the gumiho's jaws had been locked around more than its own life.
Hana and Sunny lifted their weapons. The gumiho snarled, fangs showing, but didn't- couldn't- run.
"Strike?" Sunny's voice was steel.
Hana nodded. Child or no, this was a demon, and there was only one thing to do with those. She raised her sword; Sunny hefted her wol-do, poised for a second strike should there be need.
The gumiho dropped its fierce facade. "Eomma!" It fox-screamed, scrabbling back against the trunk. "Eomma, help!"
Hana swung-
A crashing chime thundered across the clearing as the Honmoon burst into a riot of red and yellow and livid purple. It devoured Hana's sword, unraveling it like a poorly knit scarf, then yanked Sunny's wol-do into nothing, tolling furiously.
Before either Hunter could react or re-summon their weapons the Honmoon wrapped around the gumiho, warbling a melody at once soft as flower petals and wild as a mountain breeze, a fox-like purr woven throughout the tune.
The gumiho's terror receded as she stared at the Honmoon in wonder. Hesitantly, she reached out and fingered a strand; it sung joyously under her touch, message clear.
This gumiho, by the Honmoon's command, was to be a Hunter.
Bile rose in Hana's throat. A Hunter. Her and Sunny and Mina, once she got back from Seoul, would be tasked with raising and training this beast to sing and fight, to dance and wield starlight blades, to keep the Honmoon provided it didn't destroy it or devour them first.
To fight in a war when it was born in the enemy's camp.
"What now?" Sunny asked uncertainly.
We curse the Honmoon.
Because what good could come of a demon serving as a Hunter? A creature with only greed and cruelty in its heart, with none of a Hunter's nobility and virtue? It would be akin to setting chaos free; in a crimson moment, centuries of work would be destroyed by its selfish jaws.
Not that the Honmoon cared. Or that they had a choice.
Grimacing, Hana crouched and coaxed the gumiho forward. "Here," she said, voice flat as a sour note. "Come out."
The gumiho cowered back, looking skeptically at Hana's outstretched hands, but the Honmoon warbled- "Go on, little Hunter"- and nudged her forward. Ears pressed flat, the gumiho crawled over and let Hana pick her up. Instantly she wrapped her tails tight around Hana.
They were surprisingly soft. Hana's lip curled in distaste.
Sunny tipped her head thoughtfully as the gumiho trustingly buried her face in Hana's neck. Her face softened. "Pity she's a gumiho; she's cute."
Yes, Hana thought as claws tore her shirt. Pity. Pity she was a wretch and not human. Why on Earth would the Honmoon choose a demon-
But wait. It was not just a demon; it was a gumiho. Singular among hellspawn not for what they were, but what they could become.
Pieces started to fall into place like notes completing a melody. Of course! It all made sense.
"Actually," Hana said, readjusting her grip on the gumiho as she took advantage of Sunny's distraction to nudge her to sit and start attending that leg. "I think I know what we're meant to do…"
It would be a trying hundred days, but once the demon was starved away, they'd have a human hunter.

This post just turned 10 years old which is pretty fucked up actually. When I made this post people would say things like “actually supernatural only has 8 seasons” but here we are in 2023 so who’s laughing now. Not me I want to die
many women are excited to get old and weird, but i have great news that it's fully possible to become weird now, before you get old. just imagine the heights of weirdness you will be able to reach in fifty years if you get started now. that's what I think
The thing about Miss Piggy is that she kind of has a Roger Rabbit comedy superpower where she wins nearly any conceivable fight she's in. But unlike other characters of which that's true, like say, Bugs Bunny, who tend to win because they make the opponent play the game with their rules, Miss Piggy wins because the joke is that she can beat the shit out of literally anybody.
