@all-things-demigod
Whenever i visit my grandma
what you said was very sweet and means a lot to me but i am incapable of properly responding in any way besides “thank you so much aaaah” because i do not know how to accurately express the exact level of my gratitude to where you completely understand how much what you said meant to me without me getting even more emotional and looking like a fucking nerd: an autobiography
Just thought I should add something which I forgot in my earlier post...
I would like to personally thank all of the members of the Percy Jackson fandom who do spread positivity, are kind to others, and who respect the right of others to have opinions of their own. You represent what it means to be a demigod! Never stop being the way you are because the world needs more people like you!
Pssst-it's pretty hypocritical for you to get so upset about people fan-casting a white person as Frank when you yourself fan-cast a white person as Reyna, who is in fact very hispanic, very poc, and very not white. There's plenty of latina actors that can be used for Reyna, much better one's at that. Also Victoria Justice is Puerto Rican, not Native American/Cherokee, so that's also a bad casting on your part.
I find it rather sad that you have so much time to spare that you can firstly go find a more than two-year-old post which I made and then write a paragraph criticizing my personal opinion, directed only towards me, which is just a shade short of attacking me. You know, without even considering that my opinions might have changed. And anyways, if you disagreed with my opinion, then you could easily have made a general post to the fandom. As for me being a hypocrite, I have 4 things to say:
1. In my opinion, Nathan Kress is not Asian (actually this is a fact not an opinion) and does not look Asian at all. He’s a great actor but I just cannot see him as Frank. I oppose the portrayal of someone who does not at all resemble the character as described in the book or as shown in the official art (however ugly it may be, it is still the interpretation of Rick Riordan’s trusted illustrator). If you have a problem with this, then deal with it because I don’t really care.
2. There is such a thing as white Hispanic and non-white Hispanic. The term ‘Hispanic’ does not necessarily mean ‘brown skinned’, it simply means ‘person who is from a Spanish speaking country’. It sounds rather close-minded and uneducated for you suggest that just because someone is Hispanic that they’re also poc. Not all Hispanics are poc. And even if Reyna is a poc, what difference does it make to you if the way I interpreted the official art was seeing Reyna as more of a white Hispanic rather than a non-white Hispanic? Like what did you expect me to say to this: sorry for having an opinion which isn’t the same as yours?
3. I would like for you to give me 3 possible Native American/Cherokee teenage actresses I could have chosen for Piper. I bet you can’t. Why? Lack of representation in media. Whose fault is this? Not mine.
4. Since you’re so concerned with issues regarding representation of poc, do you happen to be a poc? I’ll have you know that I am of an ethnic minority background and I am a real-life poc, so suggesting that I am insensitive to these issues is not only offensive to me but also a huge misjudgment on your part. Poc issues are a huge part of my life because I deal with them everyday. If you aren’t a poc, you really should shut up and stop acting like you know more about poc issues. If you are a poc, then your treatment of a fellow poc (and human) is despicable and the reason why I hate this fandom sometimes.
I’m sorry if I sound like a bitch in this, but I’m sure you and anyone reading this can imagine that this isn’t the kind of thing people like dealing with. In fact, I remember about a year ago, a very popular tumblogger named pipermcleaning left the fandom because of people like you, who think its okay to personally attack people for having a freaking opinion. If you have an opinion which contradicts someone else’s then you should make a post about it, not send rude and judgmental messages like this to their inboxes. I don’t care if I lose followers cause of this post because someone has to say something about this kind of behaviour. I am sick and tired of people who have nothing better to do with their lives than to go around leaving these kinds of comments in people’s inboxes thinking its okay just because no one ever says anything about it. Why can’t people just be nice to each other and focus on what they find good instead of what they think is bad?
things the percy jackson fandom agrees on:
•percabeth •solangelo •brason •ocatavian is a scumbag •the official artwork is ugly af •don’t talk about the movies
Bloodline
Now look at you 😂
How I imagine Annabeth trying to be cute with Percy
Annabeth: You're such an asshole.
Percy: . . .
Annabeth: But you're my asshole.
Percy: I mean, if that's what you're in to.
Annabeth: *facepalm*
Lol ahahaha
only pjo fandoms would probably get this #percyonceandforever

so true… ps) follow for a follow
Are we seriously ignoring that in both hunger games and Percy Jackson books, there are brothers called Polux and Castor. And that in BOTH fandoms, Castor dies, leaving Polux alone.
