supernatural is very funny because its intended-to-be-last season revolved around breaking free from the narrative and the writer(s) and writing your own story and then the show never ended and proceeded to give the creative power to the fans and apparently also former employees

I think what's great is that Gallavich paved the way for a decade long love between two very broken and hurt individuals to succeed. Destiel is here scraping at the subtext bursting for a fleeting moment into the *text* and I can imagine every love interaction written by fans between them because of Mickey (the badass) loving Ian with everything. Cas and Dean would have been such a powerful on screen romance and they really fucked up, but by chuck are we making it count in season 16.
