My primary focus is Genesis Rhapsodos, because he’s hot and gender goals, and his loving world dominating partner Sephiroth. I may move on to other ships involving Genesis for a bit but I will always come back.

Trans Genesis suffers from chronic pain and endometriosis that sometimes makes him entirely unfit to function on any given day. His boyfriend suffers from migraines from overstimulation of his senses. Sometimes they’re affected at the same time and they both just wallow in pain together and they both don’t eat or take care of themselves at all.

Their friends have to come over to make sure they don’t die but they must be silent as they fight off Princess Tatertot as she defends her ‘babies’. Zack is no longer trusted to not scream when bitten so it falls on Angeal and Cloud to do it.

Sephiroth would be a winter gay, not to be confused with a Christmas or holiday gay. He doesn’t enjoy the hustle and bustle of the holiday season or all the loud bright festive things. He just likes that the snow makes the world quiet, the large fluffy snow flakes muffle every sound and makes a lot of people stay inside. This is a major excuse for him to not leave his apartment where he can just sit and read a book in the quiet. The small soft yellow lights that accompany the season make it feel super comfy and warm. Bundled up on the couch with some blankets, his boyfriend and cat, and some sugary treat. The best kind of night for their busy and chaotic lives.

Sometimes he’d just take a walk late at night to enjoy the silence. While he may enjoy the brisk cold air his boyfriend will complain the whole time they’re outside, wishing to be at home with some warm food instead. That and Genesis tends to slip and fall on his ass any time there’s a speck of ice on the ground.

Genesis is secretly amazing at making coffee, like 5 star barista good, but refuses to let anyone find out so he never has to share. Sephiroth only drinks black coffee, not because he likes it but because no one ever told him there were options.

It was an ungodly early hour on some miserable rainy morning when Genesis finally managed to see the absolute abomination that Sephiroth drinks. Just some basic extra caffeinated dark roast they he may or may not burn all the time and is always in a questionable state of sludge. So Genesis just quietly sets down the paperwork he was dropping off, takes the mug from his boyfriend’s hands, gives up his own malted mocha, and proceeds to blow his mind.

Sephiroth just sits there like a stunned fish before asking Genesis to marry him.

Genesis is a fall gay. Like as soon as a single crispy crunchy leaf hits the ground he’s breaking out the pumpkin spiced muffins and cozy soups. More like he’s making a mess of his boyfriend’s kitchen and has so many leftovers they have to give them out to friends. But Sephiroth doesn’t mind because it’s the only time of year he never has to cook and gets an endless supply of baked sweets.

Genesis is autistic and being stuck teaching someone how to do something is one of his worst nightmares. Regardless of what type of task it is he’s too impatient to wait for them to do it when he can just do it and they can move on.

Signing into a program? Why bother checking logins when he remembers his and types way faster.

Putting something together or taking it apart? He knows how to do it with his eyes closed. Move over

Cooking? His tastes better anyways.

Using materia? He’s the best at it so why not let him do it.

Paperwork? He’s been doing it for years now and knows all the shortcuts.

The faster they get shit done the faster he can break into his boyfriend’s apartment, cuddle his cat, and raid his fridge. Princess Tatertot is a main supporter of a shorter work day and encourages multiple days off for her necessary snuggles. He sees it as a waste of time to sit and watch someone struggle to do something. Unfortunately this causes him to overwork himself and get super overwhelmed with too many tasks to complete. As a result he gets super snappy and spends more nights working late than going home at a reasonable hour.

Trans Genesis with endometriosis and chronic pain. Leading up to the dreaded week from hell he gets a little sloppy with cleaning, not doing the dishes right away or leaving clothing in piles around his apartment. The PMSing is so bad that he started stress cleaning and the more he hurts himself while cleaning (pinching a finger, hitting a knee or toe on something, hitting his head on a cupboard door) the angrier he gets to the point where he starts throwing things out of frustration.

After like an hour he starts hurting so bad that he just curls up into a ball on the couch and cries. At about an hour into his cry session his amazing boyfriend, after hearing him through the wall when returning from work for the day, sneaks in with his cat Princess Tatertot. He makes a nest of blankets in the bedroom, with a heat pack, water, and compression to the painful spots. Princess Tatertot is very happy to spend her evening getting cuddles from the only two acceptable humans she likes. They snuggle until Genesis passes out into a well needed nap. Sephiroth makes sure he is taken care of and knows he’s well loved.

Genesis ends up going into work the next day and absolutely terrorizes everyone. There may or may not be a fire at some point.

Personally I find Genesis and Cloud as a very underrated ship. Especially overly confident and proud Genesis with a very unamused Cloud. I’ve read some absolutely amazing fics of those two and I think there should be more of them. Thank you fanfic authors for writing those addicting stories. If you know the fics I’m talking about on AO3 I hope you enjoyed them as much as I did.

Give me Genesis acting kinda like an ass because his mastery of materia/magic/the arts is the only way people respect him. And Cloud is either a nobody that drops banger mechanical/engineering/tech work or is barely respected outside his field of expertise. I don’t care how they first interact with each other but they eventually make a super wholesome ship and take no shit from anyone. Be it one shot, slow burn, standard pacing, or whatever. I see Genesis as being super forward and flirty but secretly self conscious and Cloud just doesn’t care about the opinions of others. Let Sephiroth for once kinda be a decent (autistic aroace) bestie that is in an actually aroace respecting relationship with Zack and/or Angeal. I love BAMF Cloud, make them both BAMFs.

The best part of the ship would be is if Genesis (being the dramatic art gay he is) respects his boyfriend’s profession, and very aggressively shows his support. Cloud would make him a handmade present that he thinks isn’t that good but Genesis loves it so much he cries. I want vulnerability, character development, fluff, representation, and love to a ship I really enjoy. I would also accept tragedies, I love tragedies.
