I love the fact that young royals had a popular girl group that were NICE and not a bunch of mean girls. Like they were nice to each other and talked about things and looked different and had their own issues and just normal friendship without being snakes behind each other’s backs. Except for Sara in episode 6

It’s been 24h, time to rewatch young royals

I watched young royals on netflix in one sitting and now I don’t know how to move on with my life.

Seeing Yasmina having to take of her hijab at school reminded me of my internship in Belgium when I was 16 just 6 months after I started wearing the hijab where they asked me to take it off. I have never felt more uncomfortable in my life, i felt completely exposed.

I just have to write a quick apreciation post becasue just the 2 first clips of this season have made me so emotional. As a teenage, muslim, hijabi girl living in europe the Sana characters are the only remotely accurate representation we get. AND ON TOP OF THAT I happen to be moroccan too with my mom and her side of the family being born in Belgium. Yasmina just living her life and us getting to see it means so much because I can finally relate to a character. The moroccan decor in her home, the manners and slang she speaks to her brother in, the identity questioning of being a second generation immigrant, its so nice to finally see yourself on the screen and I am so HAPPY.

Why does everyone just forgive Kato whenever she says racist shit? I know for sure none of my friends would be ok with those comments an neither would I
