By all intents and purposes, there SHOULD be no power, all external electrical connections were either damaged or out right severed, yet by some miracle the very inner lights of the primary spawn room buzzed to life as some long forgotten auxiliary generator sputtered and grinded, clinging to what little life the rust eaten machine had left.

Soon the building began to shake like a huge off balance washing machine was beginning to spin up, sparks jumping off exposed wires and a few light bulbs shattering after their light got blindingly bright. The more the machine got going the more intense the shaking got, a few cracks began to snake up around small chunks that soon fell to the ground, all the while damaged alarms doing their best to sound off a garbled warning of some sorts.

The deafening loud sound of metal crashing and grinding against metal was heard as it felt like the whole building was going to collapse, everything began to crescendo to its peak, the building barely holding together from the intensity of the shaking.

Then just as it seemed everything was going to come down on top of the curious robot, the sharp sound of a ding cut everything off into silence and stillness, all the lights suddenly cutting out as the generator finally gave out. It was pitch black for but a few moments before a light glowed in the middle of the respawn room.

The tell tale sign of someone getting spat out by the machine.

The glow around the form seemed wrong, misshapen, and instead of being left standing on their feet like usual the body collapsed to the ground with a solid thud.

ALERT: DANGER! ENVIRONMENT ABNORMALITY DETECTED!

Quickly identifying an area safer than standing out in the open, the robot ducks underneath a nearby desk and braced for debris. With as little warning as it began, the shaking ended- abruptly dropping the environment back into shadowy silence. The robot cautiously creeps out from its hiding place, rapidly scanning the structure to double- triple check that it wouldn't collapse on it.

SCAN RESULT: SUPPORT PILLARS INTACT. STRUCTURAL INTEGRITY... 80% RELIABLE.

It stood up, ready to leave, some part of it internally cursing itself for allowing itself to be curious. It didn't manage to take even a step forward when light suddenly manifested within the machine, once again yanking its attention towards it.

The robot, prone to making the same mistakes at the moment, slowly approaches the glow as it takes shape. A shape it could not match to any living being within its database. It should be human shaped. Bipedal, with defined arms, legs, and head. But this was not human shaped. It reminded it of the defective robots spat out onto the production line, body twisted and wrong for various reasons, and dropping straight into an incinerator shortly after failing a quality check.

It shouldn't be involved in this. It shouldn't. It shouldn't- stop. Stop it- stop!-

[SWITCH REGISTERED.]

A not so BLU Medic cautiously approaches, adjusting his glasses as he squints in the darkness. He remained an arm's length away from the body, concerned but careful.

"...Hey, can you... no, are you... there...?" He asks, unsure of what to say. Medic just needed a sign- a sign that this thing, something that should be human, was alive enough for him to treat.

Hopefully- hopefully whoever respawned would have no interest in attacking the first thing it sees, and even less so if said thing were on its team.

His head felt like it was being run through by a chainsaw, his whole body was screaming out in pain. Fuck, it hurts to think! It hurts to move! It hurts so much to breathe!

Gritting his teeth he attempted to roll onto his back, but... his body wouldn't move like it should, he groaned in pain as he tried to push himself up, while it felt like he was using both arms only one actually seemed to physically move and attempt to push him up. Blearily he looked out at the room, the warbling of sound nearby catching his attention as unfocused blue eyes looked towards the source.

Who was this person? Was he saying something? He decided to try open his mouth to speak but nothing but a pathetic raspy hiss of air came out, his face instantly crunching into a pained expression as his arm gave out and he landed face first onto some rubble on the ground. Another raspy noise escaped the newly respawned man as he simply lifted his head.

A large gash crossed above his right eye, a gash that should be bleeding.

Why wasn't there blood?

Instead of the familar crimson liquid oozing out from the wound, a thick black smoke was billowing out and fading into the dark room. In fact, had the man been able to see his own body he would see the reason why his body wasn't responding like it should have been.

His entire right arm was missing, replaced with the same black smoke attempting to look like the missing limb, his right leg merely a stump that reached the knee while his left leg was missing entirely, the same writhing smoke trying to form the missing limbs.

Could this man even be considered human in this state?

Location: BLU_1096 [INACTIVE]

With a swish, its cloaking mechanism deactivated and its invisibility fell in a cloud of smoke. Glowing yellow eyes equipped with various kinds of vision scanned the darkness.

The outer walls were marked with cracks and craters of old battles, ground uneven. The metal doors serving as the building's entrance which once stood as an impenetrable wall groaned open with a bit of a tug and a push. Squeezing through the gap, the Spy unit let itself in, pulling up an old blueprint of the once highly active BLU base.

The mission was simple. Get in, take anything of value, get out, and report. It didn't need a disguise within a place long abandoned, nor to be particularly sneaky. It supposed its creator had assigned it this task just so that it would not be idling for too long. It didn't (and shouldn't) ask.

Thanks to the blueprint, navigating the building was simple even in pitch black darkness. It ignored the unimportant rooms to save time and fuel, searching only places where it would be reasonable to find some sort of sensitive information. As expected, important documents had been taken and secured in the move, leaving only useless files collecting dust in drawers, desks, and the occasional floor.

Leaving the final room of interest with nothing significant in its posession, it prepared to leave when a quiet buzz caught its attention. Its head flicked up, sensors catching light.

[RESPAWN]

The blue sign was lit up. Power to this building had been cut. It confirmed this information three times to ensure no electrical forms of security would be active.

It was irrelevant to the mission. The Respawn Machine held no documents within it. Any other robot would dismiss it and move on.

It should leave.

Should.

The unit slowly creeps towards the door under the sign, maintaining high sensitivity for all its senses in case of danger, and slowly pushed the double doors open.

This male tends to avoid humans even in the wild. Some say he is shy, and some reported him to be outright afraid of humans. When he was caught he never protested upon seeing the knife in the fisher’s pouch, and he never uttered anything when he was brought to this facility, in fact he was quite immobile during the whole trip...thus days passed. Long days circling in the same small space, even for the 4.4 foot long beast. Long days filled with sharp light, needles and injections, bland food and nobody to hunt down or even tease anymore. Long gosh darn days...

Today he bit someone. Out of fright, of course. It is in his nature to react this way upon the human handling him, pulling him out of his tank with little consideration to his opinions. Humans never understood his snarls, so this was the only way to finally express how displeased and frightened he is! Hell, how much he hates this place! Today...is not his day.

SHATTER!

While trashing around, this beast hit his tail against a box containing fragile compartments in his poor attempt at freeing himself from his restrictions before his handler would return, but little indicated that he would have any luck. Nor did he know what they would do to him, but it couldn’t be any good if they hollered in their weird melodic language, right? Even if it is just him in this room now, he wouldn’t be for long. They tend to return shortly, with no “nice human” no more. In the way they had set up the room and actually drawn lines on his back, something painful is bound to happen if he didn’t make a move.

Yet he couldn’t, he is simply powerless against them. He would be outnumbered by these land-dwelling creatures. They are also bigger and stronger than him, and had more or less the resources. Then suddenly a shadow cut the light in what seem like the “cave entrance” (doorway), a figure...an unusual figure.

The beast tried to snap towards it but his restrictions held him back, so he shut his eyes and snarled, his movement slowing to a halt while his fear for his unknown fate consumed him. It all lay in the hands of the masked figure. This is it, is it not?

Scott... or rather AllOut clutched his bat tightly as he flattened himself against a wall in an unused room that had its light off, his face obscured by both his visor and the blue elastic fabric pulled up to cover up to his nose.

Soon enough he heard footsteps approaching and the chatter of a man talking on his cellphone, his grip shifted slightly as he smirked, shifting his body and winding up the shot... wait for it... wait for it... the moment he saw the man walking past him he swung and cracked the scientist over the back of the head with the wooden weapon to promptly knock him out. With that task done AllOut quickly moved to drag and hide the unconscious man in the room, taking his ID tag to get past those more secure doors.

Beep beep. The door opened with an electronic whir, sliding along its railing to reveal the room. What he saw surprised him to say the least! It was some sort of mermaid!

"Holy shit..." he muttered before grabbing a switchblade from his boot to cut the bindings of the person, jerking away as it tried to lash out at him. "Woah dude! Chill out!"

The footsteps approach, yet without the company of loud voices barking at one another, nor the rustling of equipment and other vitals, and utterly no beeping from the strange structures around him. The only source of sound is this stranger and the uneasy atmosphere growing in the room. The poor beast did not dare opening his eyes yet, for who knows what a different human will do to him. They're all the same, after all. Sadistic killers, taking whatever they want without a single glimpse of the consequences of their actions! Ruthless monsters-

Huh? The fabric by his fin came loose. And another one. No, this isn't right! He should be feeling the needle right now, not his restrictions coming off! Thus the beast couldn't help himself and moved his head to catch a glimpse of the man.

Upon seeing the blade however, panic shot in and he started trashing violently, screeching incomprehensible warnings at the intruder to indicate that he is very, very uncomfortable. Scratch uncomfortable. Horrified.

The next time the blade approached his body he pulled himself as far as he could get on the table and bared his teeth, the look in his eyes pleading for the other to back off.

They fetched this man to kill him off, he concluded. That is for sure...

The masked mans voice sounded different to the other humans voices, his mask had an inbuilt voice changer of sorts and it distorted his voice in multiple different ways as to make it basically impossible to be able to figure who he is beyond the fact that he was a guy. His footsteps were a lot softer than any of the scientists and he occasionally glanced over his shoulder to see if anyone was coming.

Once the other started making those ungodly noises and all the thrashing he had to jerk back and put his hands up in as non threatening of a way as he could while holding a knife in his hand, using his thumb to keep it in his hand while his other fingers were peeled away from it.

"Shhhshhshhh! Dude please be quiet!" He hissed out quietly as he glanced towards the doors, he only had a short window of time till the guy either woke up or someone noticed him missing, the voices in his ears urged him to hurry up as he gritted his teeth. "I cant get close to the guy! Hes wigging out! Yeah yeah I know! You yellin' at me isn't gonna change anything! Oh yeah that will totally help, he clearly doesnt speak english!"

Soon he groaned and just simply agreed with the unseen person(s) before slowly moving closer, carefully gesturing to himself then to the restraints in which he used his knife mid-air to mock him cutting the damn thing, pausing now to see if the merman understood at all.

The creature did not seem to catch the intention the strange human had in mind, because he looked equally puzzled as terrified when the man pulled away and started gesturing off signals.

Yet he did understand the gest that the human wanted to reach him, to speak with him or establish a form for communication. A way to communicate, but why? The other humans didn't give a damn if he was throwing a fit or upset, so why now? Or why this person? And why is he looking over his shoulder every now and then?

Another issue he caught onto is a pair of footsteps in the hallway, those heavy ones of the lab coated men and women, and now they sound more fast paced. He looks up at the "dude" and chirped in a more quieter voice, still telling him to back off in his body language. It did not last long though, for his eyes turned glassy and surely he fell limp, more or less going into a state of tonic immobility caused by the high amounts of stress.

"Someone sound the alarm!"

Those sets of footsteps seemed to make the person uneasy as he decided 'fuck it' and go in anyway to cut the final restraint reguardless o- oh... he passed out? Well that worked for him. AllOut moved in to quickly slice through the materal and heft the creature over his shoulder.

"Yeah! Tell me something I don't know!" He hissed back in annoyance. "How about you do something with those hacker skills of yours Radar and buy me some time." With that he was off to get the fuck out of here, swearing under his breath as his exit was cut off by the scientists entering the room while he promptly hid behind something to pray they dont find him.

The scientists rushed into the narrow room, scanning the room first and foremost the room for any signs of a break in. Obviously the empty tablet gave the pair an easy answer "No, no, no..."

"Casper, where is creature #866666633..."

Clicking his heel, 'Casper' rushed towards the operating table and tried to find any trace of their rare aquatic creature, but there were no signs of water on the floor, nor blood smearing the white equipment in place. No shark in the tank either, which is obvious.

"...You BLOODY moron...Did you NOT check the surveillance cameras at all? Do you have ANY idea how difficult it will be to get--" the bickering lasted for a while, and while the hefty argument went on, said creature was starting to wake up again and wiggle out of AO's hold.

Chiirp?

"--Fine! Just get the commander and I'll sound the alarm, the bastard can't have gotten far with that stubborn shit. Now what are you standing there for? Go!"

The would be merman thief was using any and all reflective surfaces to try and get a good angle to see what was going on in the room while not peeking out from his hiding spot, doing his best to stay quiet as not to give himself away. Thats when he felt it.

Shit shit shit, why was he waking up right now!? AO shifed the creature in his grasp and tried his best to signal the guy to be quiet, his hand up to where his mouth would be behind the mask and his pointer extended towards the ceiling, holding his hand there for a bit before gesturing towards the scientists. Shhh sh shhhh! Please for the love of god understand a shushing gesture.

"Three... two... one... aaand, here's your distraction AllOut."

With that an alarm started blaring on the other side of the facility which triggered other alarms like a domino effect, the speaker system alerting about a dangerous subject escaping its cell. Radar you beautiful bastard! He waited until they had both left the room before making his grand escape, sharkman in his arms.

"Clear a path for me, Radar."

Then suddenly a shadow cut the light in what seem like the “cave entrance” (doorway), a figure...an unusual figure.

The beast tried to snap towards it but his restrictions held him back, so he shut his eyes and snarled, his movement slowing to a halt while his fear for his unknown fate consumed him. It all lay in the hands of the masked figure. This is it, is it not?

Scott... or rather AllOut clutched his bat tightly as he flattened himself against a wall in an unused room that had its light off, his face obscured by both his visor and the blue elastic fabric pulled up to cover up to his nose.

Soon enough he heard footsteps approaching and the chatter of a man talking on his cellphone, his grip shifted slightly as he smirked, shifting his body and winding up the shot... wait for it... wait for it... the moment he saw the man walking past him he swung and cracked the scientist over the back of the head with the wooden weapon to promptly knock him out. With that task done AllOut quickly moved to drag and hide the unconscious man in the room, taking his ID tag to get past those more secure doors.

Beep beep. The door opened with an electronic whir, sliding along its railing to reveal the room. What he saw surprised him to say the least! It was some sort of mermaid!

"Holy shit..." he muttered before grabbing a switchblade from his boot to cut the bindings of the person, jerking away as it tried to lash out at him. "Woah dude! Chill out!"

The footsteps approach, yet without the company of loud voices barking at one another, nor the rustling of equipment and other vitals, and utterly no beeping from the strange structures around him. The only source of sound is this stranger and the uneasy atmosphere growing in the room. The poor beast did not dare opening his eyes yet, for who knows what a different human will do to him. They're all the same, after all. Sadistic killers, taking whatever they want without a single glimpse of the consequences of their actions! Ruthless monsters-

Huh? The fabric by his fin came loose. And another one. No, this isn't right! He should be feeling the needle right now, not his restrictions coming off! Thus the beast couldn't help himself and moved his head to catch a glimpse of the man.

Upon seeing the blade however, panic shot in and he started trashing violently, screeching incomprehensible warnings at the intruder to indicate that he is very, very uncomfortable. Scratch uncomfortable. Horrified.

The next time the blade approached his body he pulled himself as far as he could get on the table and bared his teeth, the look in his eyes pleading for the other to back off.

They fetched this man to kill him off, he concluded. That is for sure...

The masked mans voice sounded different to the other humans voices, his mask had an inbuilt voice changer of sorts and it distorted his voice in multiple different ways as to make it basically impossible to be able to figure who he is beyond the fact that he was a guy. His footsteps were a lot softer than any of the scientists and he occasionally glanced over his shoulder to see if anyone was coming.

Once the other started making those ungodly noises and all the thrashing he had to jerk back and put his hands up in as non threatening of a way as he could while holding a knife in his hand, using his thumb to keep it in his hand while his other fingers were peeled away from it.

"Shhhshhshhh! Dude please be quiet!" He hissed out quietly as he glanced towards the doors, he only had a short window of time till the guy either woke up or someone noticed him missing, the voices in his ears urged him to hurry up as he gritted his teeth. "I cant get close to the guy! Hes wigging out! Yeah yeah I know! You yellin' at me isn't gonna change anything! Oh yeah that will totally help, he clearly doesnt speak english!"

Soon he groaned and just simply agreed with the unseen person(s) before slowly moving closer, carefully gesturing to himself then to the restraints in which he used his knife mid-air to mock him cutting the damn thing, pausing now to see if the merman understood at all.

This male tends to avoid humans even in the wild. Some say he is shy, and some reported him to be outright afraid of humans. When he was caught he never protested upon seeing the knife in the fisher’s pouch, and he never uttered anything when he was brought to this facility, in fact he was quite immobile during the whole trip...thus days passed. Long days circling in the same small space, even for the 4.4 foot long beast. Long days filled with sharp light, needles and injections, bland food and nobody to hunt down or even tease anymore. Long gosh darn days...

Today he bit someone. Out of fright, of course. It is in his nature to react this way upon the human handling him, pulling him out of his tank with little consideration to his opinions. Humans never understood his snarls, so this was the only way to finally express how displeased and frightened he is! Hell, how much he hates this place! Today...is not his day.

SHATTER!

While trashing around, this beast hit his tail against a box containing fragile compartments in his poor attempt at freeing himself from his restrictions before his handler would return, but little indicated that he would have any luck. Nor did he know what they would do to him, but it couldn’t be any good if they hollered in their weird melodic language, right? Even if it is just him in this room now, he wouldn’t be for long. They tend to return shortly, with no “nice human” no more. In the way they had set up the room and actually drawn lines on his back, something painful is bound to happen if he didn’t make a move.

Yet he couldn’t, he is simply powerless against them. He would be outnumbered by these land-dwelling creatures. They are also bigger and stronger than him, and had more or less the resources.
