I left tumblr when Taylor did and I’m still sad about it :(
RED x folklore
so call it what you want, yeah, call it what you want to.
This is an unpopular opinion as a swiftie but RANKING Taylor ANYTHING makes me very anxious and feels impossible bc every Taylor album came at perfect times in my life and fit like puzzle pieces or foundations to EVERYTHING I was going through or experiencing. How do you compare that??
How do I compare LOVER the album coming at a time when I’ve never been more soft with myself, knowing what I stand for and growing my hair back out and going back blonde. DBATC IN THIS ROMANTIC CLIMATE??? And YNTCD at a time when I’m finally at peace with my sexuality and what that means for me..
— to the REPUTATION era when I had just graduated college, feeling dark and trying to find myself and dyed my hair brunette and chopped it all off? Getting spontaneous lyric tattoos and spending every dime I made on rep concerts?
How do I compare debut (Teardrops/Tim McGraw) when I was ELEVEN in MIDDLE SCHOOL listening to it on my IPOD NANO— to RED in the fall when I was about to graduate high school and listened to it for the first time on a road trip with my best friend?
How about FEARLESS coming out when I was LITERALLY FIFTEEN?? That album DEFINED my existence. YBWM was the anthem of my entire teens.
How do I compare that to Speak Now being my first time seeing Taylor live? As a sophomore/junior in high school. And truly discovering my love for music in general and being obsessed with all things magical and artsy and enchanting and sparkly? Truly coming into myself as a hopeless romantic.
Or 1989 as a junior in college, buying my tickets myself, driving multiple hours to multiple shows on school nights when I had 8ams the next morning and hearing You Are In Love live when I was literally in love??? And getting my first tattoo because of Out Of The Woods live??
These albums WERE and ARE my life. All those times were shit but Taylor’s music WASNT. It was/is everything to me. Somehow that old stuff still hits me right currently and I gain all new appreciation for it and new connections to lyrics that didn’t mean much before. And now the new stuff makes me feel nostalgic about everything that came before.
Taylor said in her 1989 prologue,
"These songs were once about my life. They are now about yours."
That shit hits me HARD.
How do you choose. Or rank these moments in your life that defined you and continue to build you. How. Bc I can’t. @taylorswift @taylornation
I have added every single taylor song to every playlist I’ve made since I was in like fifth grade... like no matter the theme, if Taylor wasn’t included then I didn’t even wanna bother with it tbh and now there’s so much to her discography that every playlist is just a Taylor playlist. sounds about right. @taylorswift
Billie Eilish: Next on the list is Picture To Burn, which again - I don’t know how this song came about but I used to love this song when I was like four. No, probably older than that, probably like six or something. Billie’s dad: Taylor Swift had these wonderful crossover country-pop songs that had these great stories to tell and they were so compelling. Billie Eilish: [starts singing] Romeo save me… Yeah, very iconic. Billie’s dad: Yeah, and this was just one of them. Amazing. Billie Eilish: It’s crazy - it’s very country, like when I listen to it now I’m like wow! I totally didn’t realize how country this was. Billie’s dad: Well that’s her evolution. You know, she was a country artist who crossed over… Billie Eilish: I loved this song back then because I thought it was so badass, and I thought it was so cool and mean and… yeah, I just loved it. Actually, I didn’t even know it was Taylor Swift until this year. So… there you go.
hey just wanna continuously let you know your music has saved my life over and over again and I’ll forever be like the most grateful bean for you and your career and being an incredible angel and for basically being a best friend of mine for around 14 years now @taylorswift ily

@taylorswift
hey girl, just wanted to thank you for being such a huge part of my life for around 14 years now 💞
I remember hearing Teardrops On My Guitar on the radio for the first time as if it was yesterday.
To put it WAY too simply, having your music as the soundtrack to my life has been one of my biggest joys. You’ve given me the courage to do so many things I would’ve NEVER been able to do without you. You continue to inspire me and make me want to be more and do more in every aspect of my life.
Your talent and drive continue to blow my mind every day and I can’t believe the amount of magic you’ve put into this world in the last 30 years. You deserve like ALL the good things there are.
I owe you literally the best times of my life. All the nights spent at one of your tours, the trips to and from, all the other times I’ve spent with friends /and alone/ jamming out to your music, the tattoos, the friends and connections I’ve made in this fandom. The BEST times of my life. I couldn’t even begin to tell you all those stories.
Thank you for being a close friend to me all these years. You’ve been there for all the highest highs and lowest lows in my life. Through every friendship, relationship, all the family issues, through every loss of a loved one. I hope in some small way you know you’ve made SUCH an impact on my life. 💞
Can only hope to tell you in person one day what an incredible difference you’ve made in my world and THE WORLD. (And rant about how all your songs are masterpieces.)
can’t wait!!!!!

Alright Swiftlets, by now you have all heard that one of the main things we can do on an individual basis to prevent the spread of the coronavirus is to wash our hands frequently for 20 seconds. The suggestion has been singing Happy Birthday twice but that has gotten boring in .3 seconds, so I present
Taylor’s greatest 20-second hits to wash your hands to
Last Kiss - from “I hope the sun shines" to “changing your mind”
Dear John - from “I took your matches” to “sad empty town”
Enchanted - first chorus
Long Live - first chorus
Don’t Blame Me - from “I get so high” to “every time you’re lovin me"
Delicate - Beginning part from “This ain’t for the best” to “1,2,3, let’s go bitch”
Gorgeous - first chorus
Getaway Car - from"We were jet set” to “traitors never win"
also Getaway Car - from “I’m in a getaway car left you in a motel bar” to “first met me”
King of My Heart - bridge through the first time she says “king of my heart”
Picture to Burn - Chorus
Blank Space - “so its gonna be forever” to “love the game"
also Blank Space - “cuz we’re young” to ” and I’ll write your name"
Blank Space again - the bridge
Style - first or second half of chorus, it’s exactly 40 seconds
OOTW - bridge (minus the extra “you were looking at me"s)
All Too Well - “I walk through the door” to “drawer even now"
All Too Well 2.0 - “you call me up again” to “all too well"
All Too Well 3.0 - "time won’t fly” to “walk home alone”
Holy Ground - “darlin it was good” to “was holy ground”
The Other Side of the Door - Outro
Fearless - Chorus
Cruel Summer - first verse
The Man - chorus
Death by a Thousand Cuts - first two stanzas of the bridge
ME! - bridge
Spread the word, not the germs!
Me sitting here going through every single one and having a moment
