Honey winced when she was shouted at, hands covering her gem on reflex. She took a step back from the shorter gem. “I-I don’t have an o-owner. I’m d-defective… Noone would w-want a p-pearl like me.” Her gaze was downcast as she tried to explain her situation. “She m-made me, but I-I ended up w-wrong…..”

“Of fucking course you did! Apparently everyone she makes doesn’t turn out the way she wants!” The short gem shouted, reaching around to feel the implant again. She growled slightly, glaring at the ground. “I told you to let me out of this room.”

There were few things Honey feared as much as the wrath of her creator and this gem was not one of them. “I-I can't do th-that.” She moved to better block Cal off. “If y-you escape, sh-she'll know it w-was my f-fault and shatter m-me for sure.”

“Calcite?” She asked, raising an eyebrow. “Which Calcite? Where’s her Gem?” She leaned against a wall, taking some deep breaths and curling her hands into fists. After a moment, Cal raised her hand back up to the implant in her neck and scowled again.

“W-where her one eye w-would be.” This was the first time Honey had to deal with a gem after a procedure and she wondered if it had been such a good idea to tell her who had been responsible for it. She had ways of dealing with the short gem if she decided to attack her for any reason, but doing so would get her in more trouble. “U-um... I d-don't think you should t-touch that...”

It was odd that the calcite was having trouble forming her uniform, but Honey assumed it might be because of what was done to her. “Y-yes! Of course!” She rushed off with determination to not have anything wrong with herself revealed. When Honey returned, she had a towel and a non-light outfit. “H-here… You l-look about t-the same size as m-my creator.”

“Thanks.” She said, quickly drying herself and getting dressed. Deciding to ask what Honey meant later, Cal pulled the screen back towards her with a small frown. Her frown deepened as she looked through the information, eventually raising a hand to the back of her neck and scowling.

Honey fidgeted with her fingers as she watched the calcite, wondering if there was anything she could do to assist her. The short gem was only becoming more agitated and Honey had no idea why or what she could do about it. “I-If there’s anything y-you need h-help with?”

“You can tell me where we are.” Cal replied, her voice cold. She pushed the screen away from herself, glaring at it angrily. “And how to get out of here. Oh- and get me something I can break.”

The pearl winced and took a step back from the other gem, clearly afraid of her now. “Th-this is one o-of the labs belonging t-to my c-creator, Calcite. I'm d-don't think she'd b-be happy w-with me if I l-let you l-leave or break s-something....” Yes, this calcite was scaring her, but not half as much as earning the ire of the one who made her.

The pearl raised a hand to place it on the glass, curiosity filling her. The gem looked so much like the one who had creates her, yet also quite different. Twenty minutes wasn’t too long to wait and Honey had nothing else she had to tend to leaving her free to wait for what would happen when the timer ran out.

Once the timer finished, a drain at the bottom of the chamber opened and the liquid drained out. Cal’s eyes slowly opened and she looked around, confusion clear on her face as the glass lifted away from her. “Wh… what happened?” She muttered under her breath before seeing Honey.

The sudden draining of the water startled Honey enough that she took a step back from the tank. Her hands were drawn over the gem high on her chest, form tensing with nerves. “I-I don't k-know... I just f-found you now...” There was a screen with technical data suspended next to where the cube had been and Honey quickly handed it to the short gem in the hope it would help.
