Um, hi! I love your work and I’ve been trying to make a few sported of my own character but I can’t seem to get a few things right(?)
So, if it’s not too much to ask, do you mind sharing some tips on *where* the little diamond-like hair shines are supposed to go/how big they are, and how you add that grey-blue tint to parts of the sprite that are closest to the background? (Like at the back of their hair, on their back leg, etc.)

let's start off with the hair shine - usually, they aren't that big, if anything small sized? (they're not bigger than the character's eye, i'd say) i personally just do it however my gut tells me to do it! but if that's not really helpful, i'd recommend to pick a twst character, with a sprite which turns their head the same way you're drawing your character and kinda go off there?
alternatively, take jade for example; the shine is near the roots-ish, but far enough away. the diamonds sort of go into one another, so the shape of the diamond becomes less distinguishable. and on the edge of the hair you see how the shine flows into following the lineart!
at the end of the day the diamond shaped shine just follows your regular hair shine pattern!
as for the grey/blue tinted parts, i'll explain a little; these parts are there to add a little depth to the drawing - sorta in the sense of the farther something is away, the more blue-ish and distant it becomes. twst's style exaggerates it a little, since in irl ofc it would never be this strongly blue tinted.
usually that blue tint in the sprites applies go body parts that are in the back! take leona for example; the grey-ish tints are more subtle here, but they add life and depth into the drawing nonetheless. i encircled the parts where you can find these spots, so you can get an idea where they tend to be - usually though they tend to be in parts where the light wouldn't come through so easily
i generally recommend just to take a lot of examples from the og sprites and sort of cope what's similar - so for example if your character has a similar hand on hip pose like leona or hand behind back like floyd, then just try to observe how the folds of the clothes fall, where the shadows and highlights fall and where the blue/grey tint applies. i noticed it's kind of a bit different for the majority of characters!
