I have more to say about this post but specifically about the powers

Their abilities correspond to their personalities/human lives

David- mind reading/mind manipulation→ overthinking final boss and surviving due to his charisma. I think his ocd and autism also play into this as his compulsions alter his mind against his will so to speak, and the autism leaves him somewhat guessing what humans do and want. With the constantly being moved around in the foster/care system as a child without any control or even really anyone explaining anything to him, coupled with the abuse he went through with Max resulting in him also having no control and having to always think 5 steps ahead to avoid punishment, it would make sense that his ability would allow him to know what to do and how to do it with people to get the outcome he needs, or atleast get closer to that goal

Dwayne- can turn into mist/smoke→ he doesn't talk much, and I don't know if you know this but smoke isn't exactly loud. It's subtle, but it can be suffocating which I think is how people view/ed Dwaynes presence. Theres also the fact it's synonymous with being mysterious which Dwayne gets mischaracterized as, which works in this context because fog/mist is just condensed water and smoke is more or less carbon in a gass [not mysterious]. But also being able to turn incorporeal and waft away would be a huge help to him in situations where he gets overwhelmed and needs a breather, kinda like the ultimate 'running to the bathroom to hide from a social event' because people wouldn't really perceive him at all

Marko- can talk with/command animals→ never felt welcome or that he belonged around humans, and most of the time he didn't feel human at all, so his ability lets him turn to animals instead for that connection/acceptance his human life lacked while giving him power he wouldn't have had at all around people considering his situation as small, physically weak, and seen as a girl in the religious community he grew up in. [Think the "for human grossly underqualified for canine grossly overqualified" song]. However there's also something somewhat ironic about it because now he's a vampire he HAS all the the things he was lacking, and my version of Marko atleast doesn't actually care for animals all that much. His ability serves a much more practical purpose of 'it lets him do x which is helpful in y situations'

Paul- electricity manipulation→ as Brooke McCarter described Paul "he's really 'gnarly'- he's like spastic, crazy, a time bomb that's ready to go off. It's like Paul always has a rock video in his mind, constantly spinning" not only does that sound like the most ADHD ever, but read that quote and tell me it's not the personification of a lightning strike? It makes sense for him to have control over something just as unpredictable as himself. Out of all the boys I feel like Paul is the most likely to not just kill you for kicks, which I know sounds odd but hear me out because I think he'd be interested in wringing out every drop of fun and excitement he can get so I think him having this ability works well with the flashy, 'goes for the tallest thing' which metaphorically would be what stands out most, but could also kill you violently/do major damage just as quick

SPOILERS FOR X-MEN 97 SEASON 2 BELOW

I have some thoughts about what might happen going forward for Rogue's storyline.

The lovers card obviously being rogue and gambit, but also reminiscent of Adam and Eve in the Garden imagery... Thinking about this.

What if Apocalypse is the snake? Tempting Rogue to choose his side to be with Gambit? Perhaps she can only touch Gambit when he's Death - and Apocalypse uses this to his advantage. Offering her a place at his side so she can be with Gambit?

Keep in mind Apocalypse and Rogue's conversation in episode 3 about love and lost. Apocalypse could very well use Rogue's own words against her in his attempt to sway her.

Also the detail of the snake wrapped around them both but the head of the serpent on Gambit could represent Gambit being under his control, but Rogue not quite under his control. However the serpent is also about to strike - Apocalypse would have no problem discarding Gambit if need be.

We're in for some fun angst!!

when the x-men finally come to the mcu I want them to really lean into the horror of the x-men stories. krakoa is a sentient island! the cosmic horror of the phoenix! the demonic nature of limbo! sinister's experiments! characters like nightcrawler having 'unnatural' appearances! the terrifying nature of sentinels/nimrod! all of it!
