#emergency. hey everyone !  It’s me again requesting your aid to help me pay a share of my mom’s colonoscopy + endoscopy (with biopsy exam).  the amount this time is 120$ and I have to pay until the end of this month. Depending on the result of her exams, which it come out next week, this will be hopefully the last. the canon that anton was not only once human , mortal , died , but he gained a form of semi-immortality . and then … he died AGAIN , went to hell and became a demon . only to come back , canon implying numerous times that he’s some sort of nightmare . And seeing the amount of influence swamp thing held on the sandman’s narrative , it’s not surprising that anton can be interpreted of ascended nightmare , who perhaps , manifested himself into being rather than been created directly by dream . Which my friend & writing partner Kadian @sinnhelmingr helped come up with me , as per influenced by canon stating that arcane’s powers are like “the curse of eternal waking.”

EDIT : also we see Abigail is in the dreaming numerous times , too ! Consider that as well !

I’ll have the post up in a few days . But there’s definitely some interpretations and aspects to consider . And bits of more obscure lore to dig up and write about .

it is with an unfortunate truth that I am adding the incarnation of all evil , the wholly unkillable , the eternally infernal , the absolutely diabolical Anton Arcane as an NPC to this blog . He won’t be available for interactions outright , though . But given the fact that anton is such a prominent presence in swamp thing , and his affiliations with Hell as seen in the sandman ( as the cause of Matthew’s death & a host in Lucifer’s hell serving directly under lord Beelzebub ) , and even multiple other vertigo titles , he’s just … lurking in my portrayals . He even has connections to The Shade , of all people . Canonically , even .

i … sorta forgot that the shade got his heart ripped out of his chest canonically . but my headcanon of him always wearing a rose pinned against where his heart used to be absolutely stands . his own rose that he’s grown in his garden , in his city . 🌹 where his desire & love ultimately lies is his Opal City , and he thusly carries a part of it with him ( mirroring the canonical ending of Starman 1994 ) .

you can call him “heartless” for his cruelty , but he will only laugh gently at you for such .
