Which Wolf Do You Feed?

Derek’s nose wrinkled at the thought of it. He didn’t have family, no matter what this wolf said. He shook his head a little to get the gag further down his neck and then looked to his sister before speaking. “If i want to stay human…what happens then? It’s clear you won’t let us leave alive.” He told him with obvious fear in his eyes. He was scared for himself and his sister.

“Then you become human pack. My mother was human pack.”

He tilted his head to the side as he knelt down further so that he looked less threatening. His eyes were still glowing golden.

“You can’t leave. Not unless we’re absolutely sure that you won’t go blabbing. So you have to stay. We’ll be your new family.”

He looked back.

“There are more humans here than you think. All have come for one reason or another. Some for love. Others trespassed on our land.”

He shrugged.

“You can remain human. It won’t be held against you. But you can’t leave.”

Derek looked at each member of the pack and had listened hard when the beta spoke to the Alpha. Yet now here he was face with a choice. His hands were tied behind his back and the gag was still on his mouth. He and his sister had been making their way home, on foot. They were not aware they had walked onto werewolf territory, let alone that werewolves existed.

He looked at the beta who was addressing him and made a move to speak, his words muffled by the gag. He rolled his eyes and motioned to the gag, again with his eyes to try get it taken off so he could speak.

Stiles reached in, pulling the gag from the human’s mouth. His head tilted to the side, eyes flashing golden as he waited for the answer to come.

“If you choose the bite, there is a chance you will die. But if you survive, you will be stronger, faster, and more powerful than you can imagine.”

He smiled softly.

“And you’ll always have family.”

He was scared. Of course he was scared. He was a human surrounded by werewolves. He was either going to come out of this dead or alive…or a werewolf. He could only hope that he would be alive. Even then listening to the pack before him talk, werewolves didn’t seem too bad.

Stiles was son of the pack alpha, and best friends with another alpha in the pack. He himself was only a beta, but one day would be an alpha and take over the pack himself. His father was working on teaching him about human and werewolf relations. In this case, should they kill or turn a group of humans who had entered their territory.

“Choice.”

He thought about it long and heart.

“They should have a choice between being bitten or being human members of the pack. They shouldn’t be killed. Enough death has come to human and werewolves alike.”

His father had agreed, and Stiles made his way to the first of them.

“So, what is your choice?”

Derek had a feeling that Stiles knew who he was. It wasn’t exactly like he had the best disguise in the world. He reached forwards to help Stiles sit up and then shook his head. “Funnily enough, Superman saved you. Not me. How much smoke did you inhale?” He asked with a chuckle. He knew he had to keep this facade up, he had to keep his secret a secret. If Stiles knew, he would be in more danger than what his job put him in and that would make him feel too much guilt for one person to handle. “Here drink some water.” He told him as he poured out some water and gently eased the mask off of Stiles’ face and handing him the cup. “Come on, you need to drink.”

He glared at Derek Hale before taking a sip of water. God, it felt amazing to cool and wet his throat. He moaned slightly as he took another sip before tossing the mask off completely and pointing at Derek.

“Glasses are not a disguise, Derek. They don’t hide who you are. So you doll up your hair fifties greaser style and remove the glasses. You haven’t fooled me once.”

Okay, maybe once. But then Derek Hale coming to town at the same time as Superman along with Derek always getting the best stories on Superman kind of added up.

“Besides. I’m an investigative reporter. I investigate.”

He rolled his eyes and took another sip of water.

“We need to get you a mask. Like all the other heroes.”

❝ Should I just come back another time? I mean, I feel like you’re ignoring me and, uh– clearly you have more important things to be dealing with other than listening to me. ❞ Arms crossing, Isaac let out a small sigh, not much in the mood for having his time spent in such a way. If anything, he just didn’t like that he’d made the journey to see the other, only to be pushed aside. The teenager couldn’t help but wonder if something was wrong.

In a strange way, it made him feel quite down, and he wasn’t sure why. Perhaps it was just one of those days, though they seemed to have been more frequent as of late. ❝ Why do you even bother keeping me around if you don’t even feel the need to acknowledge me? ❞ A sudden question, but one that had been on his mind for a short while; it had been bugging him, and in the end, Isaac knew the only way to get an answer was to ask first.

It wasn’t that he was trying to ignore Isaac. Not really. He was just working with a complicated set of wires. Of course, at these words he pulled his head back from behind the TV and smiled softly.

“Sorry. I’m not really an IT guy and I really wanted to play some games with you.”

He held up the controller to his new PS4.

“You and I don’t really spend much time together and don’t really know one another all that much. We’re part of the same pack and I thought we could do some pack bonding.”

He flipped a switch and the start screen for the PS4 along with sound came through.

“And now that I’ve got the complicated shit out of the way...”

He moved over to Isaac and handed over a controller.

“Come on. Play with me. We can talk about whatever you want to talk about while we play.”

It wasn’t that Stiles was heavy, it was that Derek’s body was already worked over time from their fight with the current problem in Beacon Hills. He carried Stiles as fast as he could to his jeep and laid him in the back. He reached over Stiles and reached for a towel he had in the back ready for a gym session he was meant to be doing that day. He pressed it against Stiles’ wound and looked him in the eye. “Not if I can help it, Stiles. Keep your hand on the towel.” He told him sternly as he reached for Stiles’ hand and pressed it against the towel. He ran round to the front of the car and drove him immediately to the hospital.

He wasn’t sure what they were fighting yet. Wasn’t sure if it’s condition was contagious. With his luck, he probably wouldn’t wake up human if he did survive.

He held the towel tightly to his wound to try and stop the bleeding and focused on staying awake while Derek drove his jeep.

Talking. That was good when you were about to die. Right? If you were talking, then you were alive.

“What was that thing?”

He had to save him. He wasn’t going to watch his colleague die. He had given her to the paramedics as Superman, he was at the hospital now as Derek Hale. He was worried about Stiles. He was scared he was seriously hurt. He had been watching over Stiles for an hour now, his glasses fogging slightly as he let out a long, breath as he tapped his pen against his pad, trying to come up with a good headline for yet another article on Superman, on himself. His mind was too foggy to think. He had barely had any sleep, he hadn’t eaten or drank anything for at least a day, and yet he was still sat there staring at the male he was slowly crushing on. His mind was pulled free when he heard a rustle of bedsheets. “You’re awake!” He exclaimed as he dropped the pad to the table and pulled all his attention to Stiles.

Stiles Stilinski was an award winning journalist. From time to time he was even invited to give the news on television. He was a local celebrity. He was always in the thick of danger with his investigative reporting. He had uncovered crime rings, elderly abuse in nursing homes; you name it, he probably uncovered it.

It led to a lot of enemies.

But it hadn’t been an enemy that had gotten him this time.

He had been on a helicopter that had flown too close to a fire over one of the few parks in Metropolis City. Was it a wild fire? Had some punk teenagers set it?

Then some idiot had flown their private drone into the area and it had gotten caught up in the tail rutter of the air craft and the craft had gone down.

He had been able to get out of the helicopter, but he was stuck in the middle of an out of control fire.

That had been when Superman had saved him. And Superman looked a lot like Derek Hale.

He groaned as he woke up. There was an oxygen mask over his face to help with the smoke inhalation.

“Anyone get a number on that truck that hit me?”

He laughed softly as he sat up before looking up at one Derek Hale. He snorted.

“My hero.”

Derek hovered over the bleeding body. He needed to get them to safety. The rain bounced from the pavement and soaked him through with every drop that fell on him, yet he still pulled off his jacket and covered the body in it whilst he lifted them into his arms and carried them to his car. “Stay awake, okay?”

He was cold, and probably going into shock. They had been tracking whatever was causing havoc in town and being the only human, he was naturally the one that got in the way.

Stiles fought to keep his eyes open at Derek’s words. They had been falling closed. He gasped, before groaning in pain.

“Am I gonna die?”

College Road Trip||Liam & Stiles

It took a lot of convincing on Liam’s part to even get his mother’s permission to go on this trip with anyone other than his parents. His stepfather had said yes almost immediately when he said who was taking him, while he mother had insisted he just wait a week so she could go with them. But to be honest, who really was going to give up the chance of going on a road trip with one of his best friends? Stiles may not be the most eligible person for the job, but he was older than Liam and they had a few hotel reservations along the way so there wouldn’t be any sleeping in cars overnight. So here was a week later waking up around 5 in the morning to finish up his packing. He’d taken a shower and put on the comfiest clothes he could fine out of what wasn’t packed away and dragged all of his stuff down to the front door so when he arrived he could pack it up and leave.

“Liam can you please just eat the breakfast I made you and take your medication honestly sweetie it’s the least I can do I’m sending oyu out with that boy..” his mother babbled while flipping another chocolate chip pancake onto his already full plate. “Mom, what does it look like i’m doing? I’ve got 7 pancakes on my plate right now, can I at least finish 2 before you start giving me more? Just save the rest of those for Stiles- you know he can eat his body weight in anything.” he says through a mouthful of chocolate. He’d just gotten finished 3 pancakes when the door bell rang. He was about to stand up with his step-dad held up his hand and went to the door. A moment later in walked Stiles with his dad chatting about a new car?

“Hey bro.” he says motioning for the boy to sit next to him at the table as his mother placed a plate in front of him. “Just in time for breakfast with the Dunbar’s.” he takes a drink of juice and downs his medication and then turns to look at the tall boy. “So, you ready for the trip? Should be fun.”
