why do Tinamou eggs look like that. i want to eat them whole
im going to swallow these like a snake
I was seized with a primal need to know what this bird looks like and I’m not sure what I was expecting but:
I am EXTREMELY pleased with everything about this animal.
So how are you all spending your shelter-at-home?
I’m doing push up challenges issued by my BJJ instructors.
Also a lot of gymnastics and calisthenics generally. Two hours of practice today. Got some parallettes, a pullup/dip station, and two kettlebells.
wish women’s fitness was more about boosting our energy and getting our bones and joints ready for our old age and getting strong enough to punch men and less about losing weight while getting a bigger ass
May I suggest Muay Thai? Jiu jitsiu? MMA?
Obviously, while we are sheltering at home and avoiding contact this is impossible, but yes!
I also recommend performance goals like gymnastics and calisthenics. Personally I want to walk on my hands and do 10 pull ups.
This was the funniest hour of my life
At the end of the panel we gave them a round of applause for being so brave in trying to write straights and cisgenders
Especially Jasika, who got very emotional about her childhood with straight parents
types of comments on this post:
-straight people saying :/ love is love :/ gay or straight why does it matter ://///
-gay people saying wait no really i’ve never written a non-lesbian pls help
-people pointing out that even straight people don’t know how to write straight people without unnecessary romance
the truly impressive part of this panel was how for an hour, a FULL hour, they talked about writing straight characters like the st8s talk about writing queer characters and they did. not. break. It was the most amazing piece of improv comedy i’ve ever seen.
So the lab that's taught before mine usually cleans up as I set up and they had the most incredible plant/flower specimens out. I had to take pictures to share with you guys. I don't have an ID for any of them but I'm sure I could find out if you're curious (Or you could give it a go yourself!). Pictures to follow!
Here we have demogorgon.
Audrey 2.
This dude (who I will call a Very Persistent Gapper of Frip, even though 0 people will understand that reference).
Beautiful Jiu jitsu Moves. Manage the BJJ distance and go for the Guard passing. Nice move ❤️❤️
I love that kimura trap dive! Use it all the time when they post on their elbow especially

love those little tomatoes that you keep your sewing pins in. why did they make them tomatoes?? we'll never know
I KNOW THIS ONE!!
Tomatoes on the mantle were a sign of good luck, but they weren’t always in season, so people would make cute cloth ones. Someone eventually noticed that these also made good pincushions and used them that way.
THEN in the Victorian era, they started adding a little strawberry to hang off of it since it also was considered good luck, and then some genius started putting a powder or cloth or something in the strawberry to sharpen needles.
So the tomato for good luck, and the strawberry to sharpen your needles! And then, like traffic lights, we just didn’t question the design, so it stuck!
Craziest night ever
Showed up to my friend’s garage to drive over to my other friend’s MMA fight. His car wouldn’t start. We fucked with jumper cables and a really helpful mechanic aided us and we FINALLY got it started. Drove there, got there in the nick of time to watch her fight (unfortunately, she lost), stayed until 1:00 am eating dinner post-fight in an Applebee’s by the casino, and then had to jumper-cable start the car ourselves in a rainy parking lot to get home. Finally home at 3:00 am. WHEW.
I’m so glad I was there for my friend. Having a crowd show up for her means that even with a loss she can get more fights. It matters.
The Good Place Finale
FUCKED ME UPPPPPP
The show itself had fallen off steeply but goddamn
Photo from the end of training yesterday. One of my favorite rashguards. :)
I didn’t finish the triangle; he successfully hid his arm and I transitioned into an omoplata and attempted to sweep from there, which devolved into a scramble.
Overall, that day of training was tough for me mentally. I felt frustrated that I couldn’t understand all of the mechanics of the nogi berimbolo. I had good rounds with some fellow blue belts and got a guillotine on my training buddy, but mentally, I fixated on what I did wrong: getting to closed guard and finding no subs or sweeps for four minutes; getting berimbolo’d repeatedly; making wrong moves in scrambles.
Some training days are just like that and I think it’s a good thing to recognize that feeling frustrated is the first step toward improving. Action shots where I look cool are awesome. Seeing this one definitely lifted my mood. But my favorite part of BJJ isn’t hitting moves perfectly. It’s constantly trying to do something better.
“It’s the same” - Terry on coaching both men and women’s freestyle
My second match from the weekend. Crazy scramble to start off and finished her with Ezequiel from closed guard.
My first match from this weekend. I really like how I handled transitions in this one.
