“Pffft,” Buck shook his head. “Plates are for pansys. Eat it with your hands!” he said, demonstrating as he pulled a piece from the box, long strings of melted cheese oozed down from it.

Bucky plopped down on the couch with the pizza. “And it’s good you’ve gotten back with the pizza and the beer. Let’s eat! I’m starved!”

“Okay…”he murmured, nestling up and into the man’s arms. “…You’re going to stay right?”
“I’m not going anywhere as long as you stay right here.”
 “James, you need to….I think you should come back with me. Come on.” The agent pulled herself from his arms and started tugging on his hand, bringing him to the direction of her rooms.
He stood with her, ready to follow. He’d go anywhere with her. He trusted her more than anyone, unless it was Steve. The two of them were the most important people in the world to him and they always would be.

Toni slowly pulled Bucky’s shirt up, she had been wanting this for a long time. It was wonderful to finally get this chance. She pressed a tender, loving kiss to his bellybutton, trailing her lips up the line of his abs. “James…” She always called him Bucky, but this was intimate, she wanted to be completely open. “I want you.” She didn’t know how far he would let her go.
 She closed her eyes and kissed him back, wrapping her arms around his neck and pressing her body flush against his. Hearing those words…knowing that he really wanted this…it was perfect. He was perfect. And she had never dreamed that he would want to do this with her.Â
“We should….find a bed…unless you’re okay with the couch…” She tried to keep the longing out of her voice, but she was so excited.Â
“Bed,” the told her, his voice catching in his throat. He wanted her right then and there but he wanted to take his time with her. He wanted this to be special. He hadn’t been like that back before the war, or even during it for that matter, but he had a lot to live up to, now that he was walking in the footsteps Steve should have, but he’d lost him. Now he had to be the man Steve wanted him to be, and that meant respecting Toni, and he did.

Bucky hadn’t expected this, getting arrested, but when it happened, there was only one person he could think of calling. The call rang and he hoped she’d answer. He didn’t have anyone else to call.
 “No, I’m just trying to get you into my bed for the night. I’m going to kick you out in the morning.” She teased him right back, knowing that he didn’t really believe what he was saying
“Yep. That’s exactly what I expected from you.” He shook his head in mock disgust. “I feel so used.”

“You mean, you’d like me for more than one night?” he teased. He knew the person she used to be, but he also knew who she was now.
 She wrapped her arms around his shoulders and nuzzled her face into his neck. “I know,” she mumbled, doubting how he’d actually stick to it. He had failed at it before.Â
James rubbed her back, holding her gently. He wouldn’t let her down, not as long as he had a breath within him.
