Non-binary people can't use they/them because they're only one person. Non-binary people can't use it/its because it's dehumanizing. Non-binary people can't use neopronouns because they're too confusing. Non-binary people can't use he/him and/or she/her because that's not gender neutral. Non-binary people can't use no pronouns because that's too hard to use.
No matter what pronouns a non-binary person uses somebody will get mad at them.
saw a post about this earlier but it made me think: tumblr really is the only social media site where I go on and have a good time and then carry on with my day. I know it's completely curated because there are some awful people here but that (the curation) in itself is a privilege of the site. Itās important to know that hijab is banned in schools in most of the european countries, such as france, belgium, switzerland etc. Millions of girls have to take their hijab off everyday in order to have access to education, and I am one of them. Please spread this as much as possible, it has become so normal here that I feel like a fool for even mentioning it, but Iām pretty sure it goes against the human rights. This senseless law has been on since 2004 and pretends that all the students have to be āequalā and it is prohibited to show that you belong to any religion, any religious sign must be set aside. However, most of us have to take our hijab off in schools where you can clearly see a christmas tree or a christian cross. āYeah but itās not the sameā, they say. Tell me about double standards. I pray for days when we donāt have to chose between religion and education.
The older i get the more i understand why some people become obsessed with privacy, not because theyāre hiding something, but because being constantly perceived starts to feel spiritually exhausting.
My favourite part of The Obsession is when you start saying things that sound either completely incoherent or really generic with the tone and energy that it's a world-shattering event that haunts your every waking moment 'cause I can only imagine that it's really funny to an outside observer
This is literally what people are talking about when they say AI will be used to mainstream widely held bigotry. LLMs are trained on frequency and probability -> straight relationships are more well represented in the dataset -> straight pronouns and terms become the "correct" normal.
This is a form of backdoor bigotry from both normative facts (there are more straight than gay relationships) and well represented bigoted beliefs (men are superior to women).
Combine this with the mass of people inclined to believe (and being encouraged to believe) that if AI says and does something it must be correct
