Female characters that are morally grey (or sometimes literally just flawed/a bit mean, and morally a normal person overall)? [Insert a bunch of violent comments and fantasies about what I want to do to this character to hurt and punish her for what she did]

I see this shit everywhere in fandom and it grosses me out so bad, it's so disturbingly BLATANT. I know its fictional, but the double standard and the fact that most women people consider "morally grey" are practically saints compared to the men they consider morally grey?? Yes and the worst excuse of Damon fanatics is that Stefan made Damon drink blood to complete the transition. Stefan is the little brother he doesn't know better and isn't mature enough. Damon on the other hand is and could have stopped it or end himself after becoming a vampire instead of using it as an excuse because the 17 year old girl (Katherine) wanted his 17 year old little brother.

I believe Damon used Stefan turning him into a vampire as an excuse to torment him, but the real reason was that he was angry because of Katherine. He just kept using becoming a vampire as the justification.

And he had so many opportunities to end it, but he never did. Instead, he was actually enjoying that life while pretending to be unhappy about turning, using it to guilt-trip Stefan for the rest of his life.

The fact is, Damon was already willing to become a vampire and was willingly drinking Katherine’s blood. Then, all of a sudden, he acts unhappy because his 17-year-old brother who was afraid to be left alone, had been compelled, and was fed vampire blood without his knowledge-completed the transition Stefan was the one Damon, as the older brother, was supposed to protect. He’s just childish and pathetic.

Honestly, for all of klaus's crying and whining about not being treated right as a child, he wasn't less of a child abuser either. The whole time he was in tvd he was messing up the lives of teenagers. He killed the guy Davina liked, which again was a teenager, and then spend the rest of the show tormenting Davina. He beheaded papa Tunde's sons. Not to mention he is known to wipe out villages so it is safe to say that it included children. Same goes for Elijah and honesty for rest of the Mikaelsons too. For all their tragic backstory of being hated by their parents as kids, they never seemed to spare any kids when it comes to their own gain.

cami and hayley both deserved so much better. the insane shit the fandom hurled at cami's actress especially was diabolical, they wished cancer on her so bad that she asked to be written off the show. those same fans were demented about hayley having a one night stand with klaus. hayley was kicked out by her adoptive parents when she was 13 because she became a werewolf, that's so horrible. hayley is canonically 18-19 when she's pregnant. she's only two years older than davina who is treated like a child by TO while the fandom (and the show) acts like hayley is in her twenties. hayley literally dies giving birth to her daughter and dies defending her but somehow she's wrong for telling the mikaelsons off for being dangerous enemy magnets.

she gets some people killed so she can find her family and somehow that's worse than stefan/damon/insert male vampire slaughtering a shit ton of people. but they get away with it because of "tragic abusive parents" that's fleshed out while hayley's backstory is not well fleshed out but it's still there

Still going off about Camille but introducing her cousin from the other side of the ocean in season 5 really just cemented how little effort was put in to give her something outside of the Mikaelsons because what do you MEAN she had family in Ireland that she was close enough to for them to send someone to investigate her death???? What do you mean that person apparently didn't have any idea about the supernatural despite dating a hybrid and coparenting her tribrid daughter for 5 years???? What do you mean that the O'Connell family was important to New Orleans and the human faction but actually no one cared about them and all they got for their efforts was death and being a note in the Mikaelson story?????

People treating the DE dancing scene from season 4 as this culturally iconic moment and a major ship moment will never cease to irritate me because THIS is Elena right after:

I guess when you completely ignore the context of the scene (Elena being sired) and what comes after that (Elena breaking down), then sure, it's a good scene. But it truly feels like TVD propaganda to me when people hype this scene up. It's just a prime example of those fans choosing to ignore who Elena is and what she wants because they are more focused on Damon and a ship.
