Their Relationship will always interest me. They're probably my favourite brother duo.
Elijah was born at the most unfortunate time for the family. Just after they lost Freya and that absolutely affected their relationship from the start. Elijah had an absent father who was grieving his sister, a mother who was grieving, guilty and having an affair. So he probably clinged to Finn, closest in age and likely the Family he saw most.
But for Finn, I think it would be a horrible moment as a Child grieving and being expected to move on but also suddenly having a new sibling, one Freya had wanted SO Much. But it wasn't his sister, and maybe he didn't live up to the stories that Freya and esther weaved about how it'd be to have a new little brother. So it feels like a bad deal, he lost his sister to get a bad replacement. But I think he loved him, because Freya would have loved him. But he couldn't meald the two feelings. So by the time he was old enough to figure it out, Elijah was fawning over Baby Klaus. So was Mikael and Esther. Which just added jealousy to the list of issues
Respect but Annoyance will absolutely be there base no matter what.
Elijah loving and consistently wanting his brothers attention, but also his care and need to protect the younger siblings came before Anything, while Finn was his Mothers Golden Boy. so clashes are Bound to happen. But Finn was still his Big Brother.
This SCENE! (ignore the bad wigs on the eldest)
The small moment, of Elijah not Annoyed, not pulling away as Finn Nopes his decision and just turns to him waiting for him to talk. They're on an even set level, even if at every other moment in those flash back, Elijah Is In Charge. So obvious at that point It was family power by age. But Elijahs Respect is still There for Finn here!
This man was So Done, and the most bratty/bitchy we Ever see him. Even to his enemies. This is the Most brother fighting/arguing issue we see from Elijah. But his RESPECT IS STILL THERE!! He's pissed but he HEARS HIM OUT!!
Then he proceeds later to help, let the wood oak nnot burn because he feels for his brother. He CARES about him. I think Finn underestimates how much Elijah cares for him. I think Elijah doesn't WANT him to know.
