To all the Bridgerton fans upset about Michael becoming Michaela,
I wish forced feminization on every single one of your fav male characters that you insist on calling babygirl
She is not playing FAIR
constantly making airy offhand comments to my preferred younger son about how he’s next in line for the throne after his brother but he still hasn’t killed my detested firstborn for me. kids these days have no fucking initiative.
I keep sending them off on “boar hunts” together and wouldn’t you know? they keep coming back after with big smiles and boar heads and the unmistakable stench of brotherly camaraderie. what sick sad days are these!

it's the mutual yearning for me
aaaah just watched an interview with Hannah Dodd, where she talks about how Francesca's taken aback by Michaela so much because Michaela represents a possible way of life she didn't know was possible: freedom in herself. that Francesca lives her life in a regimented way, trying to follow the rules and do as is expected (very neurodivergent coded!!) by assessing a situation and performing the script, and then Michaela comes along presenting herself as someone who doesn't feel the need to live that way at all--and moreover doesn't appear to be burdened or bothered or treated differently because of this. that maybe what Francesca feels is a little bit of jealousy of Michaela's freedom and self-possession. it's this last bit that really gets to me! I completely agree with this read. whatever else Francesca is feeling or not yet aware of feeling, what she has always shown us on the show is a character who is seeking to disappear into the role assigned to her so she can have a sense of control over her life and not be perceived or put on the spot, while Michaela comes and upends this worldview entirely. oooooh I cannot wait for their season!!
