i'd like to add that the shadow color isnt necessarily dictated entirely by the primary light source, but the bounce light! so for the example of a sunny environment, the reason the shadows are blue are because of the light from the blue sky reflects across the environment; but, if the character were to be under tree cover, the bounce light would be coming from the leaves and thus the shadow would look greener.
Yee yee!!! You got it right on the nose!
Bounce light is something I didn't cover but I adore it!
Gotta work on my bounce light đȘ

Genuinely, I think the most publicly visible AI advance so far this year is how thoroughly and abruptly the "image generators can't do legible text" problem has beem fixed.
For those who haven't been paying attention, this is a recent ChatGPT output. It can do this sort of dense sensible text in images totally one shot, so don't rely on bad text to identify AI images any more.
Was the text also generated? was it generated before, and given as an input, or was it generated with the image?
The text was its own invention.
Here is the entire interaction that produced this image:
I've seen other people do much more sinister things with this! You can produce 100% realistic fake screenshots of news articles, tweets, that sort of thing, if you can convince the bot it's kosher to do so.

we do have to contend with the fact that the reason there is this like perpetual conflation funnel that turns aave and other black dialects into 'gen z slang' and memes and the reason non black performers keep putting on blaccents and the reason pictures of black people just existing gets turned into memes is the same and its because its all minstrelsy.
there is this thing called a "kitty cat". and you can get one for inside your home, and it will sit on all of your surfaces, and you can pet it.

what are the correct uses of people of colour and which ones are to be avoided?
Okay. Grammar lesson!
"People of color" is a noun. So use it as a noun.
"I am speaking about people of color."
People who are of color. People. People is a noun.
It is not, as the Internet likes to use it, an adjective!
"POC characters!" is the color blind racist equivalent of "colored characters!"
Do you want to call me colored? Is that the racism we really want to use? Old 1960s racism? Shall I go to the colored water fountain next? I'm sorry- the POC water fountain?
If you are talking about all non-white people as a group, use "People of Color".
"White people are used to being the default- which is why they get to be White and the rest of us are People of Color. The Other."
If you are talking about a specific group of people, and you KNOW that, then SAY their group and NOT "people of color".
"I am not just a person of color, I am Black. Antiblackness is about Black people, not all people of color. Otherwise, I'd just say racism. Words have meaning!"

happy pride month. when i was in elementary school i was in orchestra and had to practice the viola every night but i never remembered to. had an anxiety disorder so it felt like it was genuinely the end of the world everytime i came into class without practicing the viola. huge point of contention in my house. one night i was sobbing about it like full on meltdown about this viola and my mom came into my room super worried. she said âi wont leave until you tell me whatâs wrongâ and i knew she would be livid if i told her i hadnât practiced so instead i said âim gayâ.
and she gave me a big hug and looked right into my eyes and said âaww honey i already knew i read all your textsâ
