A very common misconception within the south asian community. So glad she addressed that. (x)
PSA: tumblr user littlefuckinmonster is stealing human bones from cemeteries in Louisiana. Please donāt let them get away with this and spread the word/signal boost!
this post is officially a decade old now
For anyone who wasnt around when this happened, this was real. Littlefuckinmonster was actually stealing bones from cemeteries. She is the bone stealing witch. She was specifically stealing bones from poor people. She was arrested for it.
This is not a Goncharov, this literally happened, hereās the Wikipedia article about it.
World Heritage.. Something
the people who make fun of other people crying over movies (like Spider-Man BND) are so weird because it shows how disconnected people are from reality
"it's just a movie why are you invested in it?" movies and TV shows are supposed to make you feel emotions? get off that phone and watch the movie you're in a cinema
also the movie genuinely has some emotional moments
oh my fuckning
UNMUTE THIS
Iām at a cafe and I started crying because I had to contain my laughter at how stupidly funny this is
Best duo ever
Recent MCU movies have a tendency for the plot to be like "what if the government you thought was good....... was actually........ bad???" and I enjoy that
Thinking about the ending of Spider-Man: Brand New Day (spoilers under the cut)
Thinking about how Peter's spider-sense pulled him out of Jean's telepathic hold on him.
Thinking about him taking the bullet meant for Jean, his feet sliding across the floor with the force of the bullet that didn't reach her. Then he collapses with the grace of a ton of falling bricks.
Thinking a lot about Frank's reaction -- taken aback that Spider-Man was willing to take the bullet for her, and instant regret that he shot him. Thinking about how Frank is someone who does not do well with knowing that he hurt someone other than his target. How, despite how chaotic he seems, how sometimes it seems like all he leaves behind him is collateral damage, he's typically very careful and very calculating. He doesn't pull the trigger unless he knows where that bullet will land. He doesn't walk into a hospital in Hell's Kitchen with a gun without knowing he's not going to hit anyone other than his target. And if he even thinks that innocent people got hurt because of a lapse in judgement he made, it can be enough to break him. Sure, Spider-Man intentionally moved into the line of fire. He could rationalize to himself that it was Spider-Man's fault, not his. But to Frank, he should have anticipated that. To Frank, it's his fault the kid is hurt.
And so he carries him into the hospital himself. And he makes sure that only those who absolutely need to will see his face. And he keeps watch outside the room until he's allowed inside the room, where he continues guarding the younger hero, even though (and maybe because) there's someone else sharing the space in there. He sleeps there, lightly, like he was trained to years ago, so that when Peter barely croaks out his name, his voice quieter than Frank's snoring, he's instantly awake and alert, and fighting with Peter to keep him from removing his oxygen mask.
Thinking about how Peter spent four years pretty much alone, but when he woke up in the hospital, he wasn't.
And then... even though he gave him shit earlier for always wearing a mask, even when drinking coffee... Frank puts on Peter's mask and gloves, and plays the role of masked vigilante, something he hates, so the kid can limp out of the hospital without a fuss.
--
Thinking about how maybe Matt finds out about all of this and gives Frank shit for it later.
BRAND NEW DAY SPOILERS UNDER THE CUT (aka i need to talk about the last two minutes of this movie)
there is something so beautiful about ned being the first to ārememberā peter.
i donāt believe he fully remembers him (iām not entirely sure how the spell works lol), but i think between learning spider-manās name from mj after building legos with him, the emotional turmoil of watching spider-man nearly die along with the entirety of new york, and of course, the muscle memory of the handshake, something clicked. i doubt everything just came back to him, and iām sure peter will have to do some explaining, but i fully believe that he felt that he knew peter for a long time.
donāt get me wrong, i also believe mj is also remembering (why was she crying why was she CRYING) but thatās a rant for another day. but i feel like a lot of people - myself included - believed she would be the one to remember first (hence the jean gray fake out scene). but it being ned is so special, because however you take their relationship, thatās his best friend. no one makes an intricate best friend handshake with someone they donāt care deeply for. and clearly, that handshake stood the test of time.
peter loved ned so much, he let him go. and ned loved him so much, he came back. and as much as i love petermj, what peter needs right now is ned.
BRAND NEW DAY SPOILERS UNDER THE CUT
the way peter was frozen when "mj" kissed him and took off his mask. the way he was SOBBING after she said his name, and "remembered" him. the way he completely broke down, hugging her so tight. the way his voice wavers when he said "i missed you so much."
the way he probably thought that after four years, it will all be okay.
the way it was all taken from him in a matter of seconds.
I have a lot of pet peeves but I think the biggest one is when people say things likeĀ āoh itās such a small town, only 35,000 peopleā like bitch my town has 200 people, you need to pick a new adjectiveĀ
According to Wikipedia, a small town is 1,000-20,000 people. So although you are correct in stating that 35,000 people is not a small town (it is a large town), you are incorrect in thinking that you live in a town. You live in a village. You are a villager.
Iā¦ā¦ donāt know what to do with that informationā¦ā¦a villagerā¦
The titanic or the hunger games?
I knew I saw this look somewhere...
#sadiesink #katewinslet
had a dream last night that alvin and the chipmunks really hated the titanic so their goal was to go back in time to stop the titanic from ever hitting the iceberg, rendering it to not be popular in modern culture.
their way of doing this was to fly a plane that drops bombs on the ship, destroying it and killing everyone in the process.
my dream was vivid with the imagery of the bow being blown to smithereens, and the ship started to sink into the atlantic ocean.
their goal was in vain, though, because now, in the future, the ship was even more popular, thanks to the chipmunks.
but it was alvin who wanted the notoriety all along. now he was in the titanics story, always to be known, for now it was not just a nameless iceberg that caused the mighty ships destruction.
but a talking chipmunk.
