Babysitting a toddler is a lot like being the narration in a point-and-click adventure game. Watching him knock on the doors of empty rooms and saying "hmm. I don't think anyone's in there". Watching him attempt to use [spoon] on [cat] and saying "I don't think those things go together". Watching him throw a cup of water onto the floor and just commenting "the floor is wet now" when he looks up at me to see if I approve.

it's so easy to forget that the majority of women in this country feel obligated to wear makeup, put on uncomfortable clothes, shave their body hair, tan, restrict their eating, do "maintenance" etc etc etc

like I know it's not their fault they feel like they have to do these things and the patriarchy is really powerful and sometimes they actually enjoy doing these things, but do you think they ever consider WHY they enjoy doing these things??? my guess is no, no they do not

I worked with this engineer who was just crazy smart and great at her job and one of the funniest and most genuine people I've worked with, but the insecurity absolutely radiated off of her! she would talk about how she felt like she couldn't go out with her friends if she didn't tan beforehand! why is changing fundamental parts of your appearance in ways proven to be extremely damaging an expectation just to exist in society! this woman had so much going for her and she would constantly reduce herself to her appearance!

straight women if you're reading this you can stop. you can just exist as a person with a body. if all of you let go together I promise it will be okay and your lives will be so much easier
