with both of her elbows on the table and her face resting in her hands, she stares down at the plate full of food in front of her. yuko loved food, that was a widely known fact. but the plate in front of her did not look as appetizing to her as it normally did. she highly appreciated all of the hard work the house elves put into making their meals, but she wanted something…different. she could have as she wished, if she really wanted to. all she had to do was sneak away to hogsmeade and feast on whatever meal she desired. the slytherin next to her, however, couldn’t say the same.
she picked up a piece of bread and held it at her eye level. maybe if she topped it with butter or jam it would taste better to her today. “not to complain about the excellent food here thanks to the generous house elves, but—” her head turned to the side and her eyes landed on ambrose. “we could have something different for once if someone was allowed to leave the castle.”
IT WAS UNCOMMON to find ambrose with anything less than a cool composure. yet somehow yuko always found a way to make him crack, to get under his skin - for better or for worse. he had his pick for dining partners though most nights he found himself beside her. he enjoyed her company, enough to even consider her a friend. shockingly. though he had no objections to something more.
her comment caused for pause as he gently set his cup on the table. ‘ well, don’t let my punishment stop you. you could go out if you wish. ’ he became tense for a moment, an almost undetectable blip in his aura. though he transitioned to a comfortable smirk with ease, plucking the bread from her hand and taking a generous bite. ‘ you’d just miss me too much. wouldn’t you, love? ’
