It's never easy to let go and say goodbye but words cannot express the pain felt after losing a best friend. I know you're in a better place after 13 years of spoiling us with your presence. Harry, you have taught me so much. How to be patient, how to train, how to share food (sometimes), how to live in someone elses shoes, how to be persistent. Least of all how to be conned in to buying a roast chicken just for you. You also taught me not only to be unafraid of dogs, but love them to bits instead. What I will miss most is my best friend. It can't be understated how much you meant to us all. You were someone i could always count on and someone who will ALWAYS run to me rain, hail or shine with that same cheeky never-say-die attitude. You were more than just our dog, yiu were the family. My favourite memory (and I hated you at the time for it) was cooking myself a steak sandwich while you waited in the lounge room, only to turn away for a moment and see that you had stolen my meal off my plate, had ran away knowing what you had done, but still following me and wanting to play tug of war straight afterward and rolling over for rubs. I will never forget our drives to the beach with your head sticking out the window, your howling when the phone rings, the stop-drop-roll for food, and you crawling under the doona and turning twice clockwise before settling at my feet. I can't ever begin to think you were robbed of time, but selfishly we've had 13 of the best years together and I still wanted more. I still remember seeing your white fluffy head poke out from mum's car the first time I saw you. From sleeping in the laundry together on night one, to being by your side in the final hours and minutes has been more than I could've asked for. You gave us, friends and strangers ultimate joy by being in your company. Like all good dogs who go to heaven, you'll be leading the pack from the front. I will miss you so much.
