MOD «TALKS BY AGE» | Pregnancy Talks

I’ve long felt that the game was missing new interactions for pregnant Sims, so I finally created them. Now Sims can complain about unusual symptoms (with random moodlets describing what’s bothering them), talk about the costs of having a baby, discuss sudden food cravings, ask for help after childbirth, and access a few additional interactions.

There is also a separate interaction for Sims with the “Hates Children” trait — they can complain about being tired of constant conversations about the baby.

I created this mod with the idea of whole phase of "getting to know someone." Some people are ready for relationships, some people do not what they want, and some just want to mess around. I wanted that in game, so i created traits lol! In real life, when you are getting to know someone, you talk about what you want, your dealbreakers, and your preferences. I wanted that in game too, more than just asking a sims favorite color and weather preference. This mod is all about that phase of dating: getting to know someone. Do they believe in marriage? Do they mind living together before or after marriage? Do they want kids? What are their dealbreakers? You get what I'm saying!? This mod let's you storytell that phase.

SIMSLORE: A Sims 4 Save File Website

Recently, I've been working on a website. It's called SIMSLORE. Basically, it's a Sims 4 online planner that'll help Simmers to organize their ideas and plans related to their save files/Sims stories. It's local (your info is stored on your device; sign in is optional). Features include:

TS4, DirectX 11, and ReShade

Patch notes today say that finally (finally!) The Sims 4 is moving over to use the DirectX 11 rendering api. Until now TS4 has used DirectX 9, which has given us some limitations when using ReShade.

They're bringing the official rollout sometime in the future, but for now you can opt in to switching to DirectX 11 on a voluntary basis.

You don't need to uninstall your game or install a new version. To switch to using DirectX 11, update your game with today's patch, and then click on Manage > View Properties from the The Sims 4 game page on EA App and enter -dx11 in the advanced launch options box. You can remove this at any time to go back to using DirectX 9.

Note: the game developers have warned in the patch notes that some mods may have visual glitches until they are updated to accommodate dx11, so it may be advisable to wait until your mod authors have confirmed everything works okay

If you have ReShade installed currently for DirectX 9 you can make it start using DirectX 11 instead by finding the d3d9.dll inside your Bin folder and changing its name to dxgi.dll. No need to uninstall and reinstall ReShade, that's all you need to do. If you want to go back to using dx9, just revert the name back to d3d9.dll.

The main benefit of using ReShade under DirectX 11 is that you'll have access to more shaders than usual. You've probably noticed a lot of red errors (also known as compiling errors) -- those are more often than not these days caused by DirectX 9 limitations.

I have these saved to PSD’s for all my images, so I can just drag and drop my edited images onto them and size them acordingly. These are the sizes that the tumblr dash seems to make images look the clearest, with the exception of the height of the 540′s. The height of the 540′s is a bit more flexible. The 540′s I have are just my preference. As it turns out, the tri image layout option for the center is slightly larger than 177px, which is pretty interesting. 178 seems to come out clearer in the center than 177px. I hope this helps anyone who has issues with finding the optimal resolutions for their images. xoxo

Renaming Your CC for a Faster Game

I saw a post about this over on GOS and I thought that I’d write a little tutorial on doing this, as I’m awful at following anything but the most simple directions and I know that I’m not the only one haha! I take no credit in finding this out, just for writing this in a very simple way haha!

You need: Bulk Rename Utility CC is a huge part of our game and often the undoing of our much loved saves. It’s very easy to accumulate CC, yet we know that it can cause our game to lag. We’re a hardy (and stubborn) bunch in the Sims Community and lag time of up to an hour is not unheard of. A large part of the lag is often down to the game’s inability to read characters and spaces in file names. It’s pretty common to come across a piece of CC that has some sort of symbol in the name; “[]” and “~” are pretty popular. Did you know that the game can only understand underscores (_) and hyphens (-)? Even a space can spell disaster! By removing all other characters and spaces, the game has an easier time understanding and loading our CC. But imagine having to go through several gigabytes of files to fix this problem   This is where the Bulk Rename Utility comes in!! It does the work for us. 1. Download and install the program in the above link. 2. Back up your files (optional but probably a good idea). 3. Load the program and find your CC folder (for your game of choice, this works for TS3 and TS4…and possibly TS2). 4. Select all of the files within that folder. 5. We’re interested in the section with the header “Remove (5)”. 6. Click in the text box marked “Chars” and hit the space bar. This will remove all of the spaces in the file names. 7. Tick the box marked “Sym.” This will remove all symbols. 8. Click “Rename” in the bottom right hand corner. 9. If you have multiple CC sub-folders, repeat for all of them. 10. Play!

@littledica has found a way of enhancing in-game textures that was capped with one of the recent updates. Head over to his post HERE on patreon to edit your GraphicsRules.sgr to let it go back to how it was before the update! NOTE this blurry texture also happens when you play on ultra!
