“Y’know, – Don’t hate on the cat or I’ll give ‘em to someone else who is more deserving,” he paused, “This way, the cat ain’t gotta hear your jokes,” he crossed his arms over his chest, leaning into his seat. Devin did what he had to ‘stand his ground’ – Even if that meant giving away his nonexistent cats to someone else. “It goes without sayin’ though that if I get the benefit of the doubt, I’ll return the favor to you in any circumstances needed,” he waved his offer. Devin licked his lips, “As long as what you’ve discovered isn’t life threatening,” he paused, “Don’t worry, the minute you tell me, I’ll be running for the hills. Of course, I’d ask for you to run away with me but, I think you’d rather stay and watch, no?” he raised a curious brow. It wasn’t that serious as he made it out to be; his fear of the unknown. He was certainly accepting that there was things that he didn’t know, but some that he didn’t want to know even more. Devin slid his jacket off, placing it on the back of the couch, his blood warming from the alcohol in his blood stream. As he thought back on it, when was the last time that Devin himself had eaten such a five star meal? Certainly at least since he was living with his parents. “Fancy dinner, huh? Where does that leave you to make me dinner?” he chuckled, a question he playfully asked. Devin’s cheeks flushed from the alcohol, but didn’t dare did he stop, as the rim was placed back flush against his lips. “Mmm,” he set the bottle back down on the table in front of them, “Where does that leave you then? You sayin’ you won’t be drinkin’ more?” he chuckled, his words beginning to slip together, but still very understandable.
