Am I the only one who thinks it's really weird how much American Girl ignores Nellie when discussing Samantha?
Like, anytime American Girl brings up things Samantha did in-lore, it's always everything BUT Nellie.
I don't know if it's to avoid spoilers for future generations (despite Samantha's full books being shortened so idk what's been cut) or simply afraid to have parents boycott them for being too "woke" since so much of Nellie revolves around child labor in the early 20th century.
It's not even a best friend thing since Ruthie, Ivy and Emily are still frequently mentioned.
Was Nellie even controversial when she first released? I don't remember a single parent raising a stink that Nellie was a poor orphan Samantha befriends and later becomes her sister.
