Happy Hanukkah!
isabel and nikki hoffman book idea!
the hoffmans are excited for the first jewish american girl doll to release in september of 2001, and she even looks like nikki! other things happen that month
Group of all my spring birthday girls from a while back. I love how vibrant they look in their spring outfits 💐
since kit and samantha were the only girls to receive the world books (not to be confused with welcome to ___'s world books; you can see the differences between the two here) and therefore the only two to receive the pop-up scenes that were a part of those books, what scenes do we think the other girls would've had in their books?
as a reminder, samantha had piney point:
and kit had her treehouse (only pic i'm finding online shows it on the back cover):
my current ideas are:
kaya probably just has her teepee (since there's not much else from her collection that lends itself to something like this)
felicity has... a stable? or her father's store?
caroline gets her boat on the lake (or the parlor, but i like the idea of the boat a lot better)
... i'm at a loss as to what they could do for josefina. maybe her weaving loom?
cécile and marie-grace would definitely have the banquet table and scene of the masquerade ball
kirsten could have a schoolroom or something from her family's cabin/barn
addy has the puppet show scene
rebecca has the stoop of her family's house where she performs
claudie has a little stage or the car from her travels
nanea's books are not ones i've read, so someone else will have to suggest!
molly also might have the stage from her miss victory performance, or her family's victory garden
maryellen could have her family's airstream
i also have tragically not gotten to melody's books yet
julie could have her mom's store, a basketball court, even just her bedroom...
annnnnd once again have not read courtney or the twins' books, so that's all we got!
AG Historical stickers wave 4, finally done!!!

Happy (Early) Birthday to Me! 🍰🎀🎉
Hello everyone! I know I don't share very many personal experiences on my doll blog, but I simply had to share my excitement from the other day! My birthday is next month (Nov 16th), but I was gifted an early birthday present! My husband, myself, and a friend of ours decided to spend the day in the city together, exploring various places we found to be interesting, Among the locations, however, was the most BEAUTIFUL and quaint little doll shop! It was wall to wall, floor to ceiling stuffed with dolls. They sold everything, from Barbie to Madame Alexander, to Karito Kids. Of course, they specialized in American Girl dolls!!
Sitting there in the window though, was the doll of my dreams... American Girl of Today, GT3. Ever since I was little, I knew she looked like me. From the sandy blonde hair to the cute bangs to the cheesy 90s fashion, I have wanted her for 20 years and now, I am proud to say I now have her!!
This is my first Pleasant Company doll as my other two American Girls are Mattel. My lovely little assistant was also around to help me in unboxing her. He did so with the utmost efficiency.
Upon first glance, I can tell she has been played with before, which is more than fine with me! I love that she probably had countless play-dates with whichever little girl out there cared for her. Her hair had this braid held together by a very OLD and crunchy elastic hairband. Once I took that out and brushed her hair, she looked wonderful! She does have silver eye, but it's mild enough that I'm not going to send her in for repair just yet. Her head has also been re-strung and there's a small gash in her eyelid, but since I display my dolls to stand, nobody should really be able to see it. I didn't get a picture of it, but when I took her tights off there was some pink nail polish on her toes, so I can tell she was well loved. It came off easy with some non-acetone polish remover!
The red vinyl dress she came with is sadly stuck to the packaging so it will be staying in there to avoid any further damage. I know the quality probably isn't as nice, but I am going to be buying Nicki's New Years' dress to replace it at some point. She also still had her tag with Mini Grin Pins, which I found to be exceptionally neat.
One of the things I was satisfied with was the American Girl of Today fill-in books were still sealed! Everything is blank and the stencils are in great shape. The American Girl magazine she came with is SUCH a charming time capsule of girlhood in the 90s. It was VERY curled and is current being pressed flat by a large book. I may take scans and post some of the pages at a later date.
My husband is probably one of the most supportive people on the planet when it comes to my doll collecting. He's the one who found out about the shop and kept it a secret until he could surprise me. He'd been saving up to get me an early birthday gift, as my birthday is in November but he knew we'd be making this trip in October. I probably never would've gotten to live my dream of even owning a single American Girl doll without him, let alone 3. So HUGE round of applause to him!
All in all, here's the three of my girls together. Isabel, Kirsten, and Anna. I love seeing them altogether!
