American Visionary Art Museum in Baltimore, MD is a gem of a place for some wild creations by untrained artists. Their next exhibit will have a gorilla made completely of aluminum foil, which makes my teeth hurt just thinking about poor Dean Millien squishing, squooshing, clenching the damn foil together to make this damn cool art. Happy birthday Redd!! Tomorrow marks this National Zoo orangutan’s 6th bday and he’s still as fun as the day he was born. Link below* is by a zookeeper who posted multiple videos and photos of Redd over the years. I could watch him play with a ream of paper, or stick his face in an older rang’s cheek pads in his big goofball way, or pretty much any fun Redd’s having, for hours. Here’s hoping he gets a fun party with lots of treats and horseplay 🦧 🎂 🥳

Summer is drawing to a close, which means our young Bornean orangutan, Redd, will celebrate his sixth birthday soon on Sept. 12.

Is this chimpanzee cherishing this leaf like a dear friend? Listening to the leaf as if it had a secret? A hug from this sweet chimp seems like it’d be lovely right about now 🤗

I hope this chimp got a warm blanket and treats after such an exhausting day 😆

IMO this brewery gets a pass on confusing a chimpanzee for a monkey because LOOK AT THOSE CHIMPS. Angel Chimp is whimsical. Monk Chimp is serene. I’d drink any beer made by those two 🍻
