Just like the crescent moon how can my heart glow so brightly yet feel so completely empty in the same moment
especially after meeting you
light comes from stars that are already dead what then truly makes the heart full? if not the love of someone so pure
I supposed this is why we study the cosmos
watched endgame and the only thing i will say is:
i’m depressed 3000
Endgame in a nutshell
Questions and Problems with Endgame (SPOILERS)
1. Tony being stranded and rescued in space seemed so rushed.
2. Time travel not explained well enough by Hulk and Tony
3. How did Thanos get himself and his entire army to time travel with one little Pim time travel vial thing?
4. Why were Thor and Cap unable to kill a stoneless Thanos with Mjolnir and Storm Breaker when Thor could have killed Thanos with all the infinity Stones in Infinity War if he had just gone for the head?
5. Why did Captain Marvel need to get the gauntlet into the van? Didn’t they have to bring the stones back to specific times and places? Where would they have gone had she gotten through?
6. You’re telling me all the MCU heroes couldn’t kill stoneless Thanos together? A snap shouldn’t have been necessary to win. It should have been an easy fight once everyone came back
7. Not having Natasha be in the final battle sucks. She was the only hero from the MCU not in the final battle. I get why she wasn’t and I thought her ending was good but her not being there still bothered me.
My biggest complaint and questions are about Steve.
8. Are we supposed to think he was Peggy’s husband all along? If that’s true then Sharon was making out with her uncle knowingly.
9. Are we supposed to think Steve created an alternate timeline? If he did then how did old Steve end up back in his first timeline after he grew old?
10. Are we supposed to think Steve time traveled started a life with Peggy in a new timeline and then time traveled back to his old timeline as an old man? If he did then shouldn’t he have appeared back in the present on top of the time machine thing with his white time travel suit instead of on the bench? Doesn’t the fact that he’s waiting on the bench mean he never traveled back to the present with the time machine, he just grew old and ended up there waiting for Sam.
11. Are we supposed to think Steve was always in the same timeline and erased Peggy’s husband and kids and lived his life ignoring the fact that Hydra was in Shield, Bucky was a Hydra assassin and that he knew how and when Howard and Maria were going to die?
12. Where did old Steve get the Shield from?
I really really really wanted to like this movie but there are too many plot holes. Can someone clarify some of these things for me. Am I missing something?
I’m so glad you said this, because I left the theater thoroughly pissed off and dissatisfied. ESPECIALLY about Cap’s ending.
Like I personally thought it would have been a noble and Captain America thing for him to die in battle against Thanos’s army. OR maybe when he goes back in time, instead of him appearing on the bench, it just cuts to him dancing with Peggy.
Like they crossed timelines and broke their own rule when Steve came back, but literally the only reason why they did that was because they needed to pass on the shield to Sam.
But anyway I agree with all of you points, like how did they not kill Thanos?? Like the three strongest characters, minus Hulk, were fighting him??
ALSO in Infinity War, Thor literally almost dies as he blasts a star through his body to make the Infinity Gauntlet, but Tony can just whip one up in his lab???
Also, no funeral for Nat?
Also, so many cop outs and easy moments for everyone. Like Tony being rescued, or right when the battle was getting good, Captain Marvel FINALLY comes back and destroys the ship and boom thats over...
I was pretty disappointed with the writing in this film. It was lazy and watered down and slapped together and the characters didn’t get the emotional resolutions they deserved. Every important character moment was breezed over. Like Banner finally accepting himself before he wears the Gauntlet.
Or when Nat is about to sacrifice herself, she throws it back to Avengers when she says she owes Barton a debt and her death was paying him back. Everything was so brief that you have to watch it multiple times to even understand whats happening. UGH.
Yeah, that is America’s ass.
Avengers Endgame
OKAY I really want to know what people think of this movie?
Because when I walked out of the theater after watching it for the first time, I was thoroughly disappointed with the whole film.
- I thought it was watered down
- fuck all the character development for everyone, especially Thor’s
- I hated Cap’s ending (also, the timeline didn’t make sense for him to end up back on that bench)
- Thor had to blast a dying star through his body to make the Infinity Gauntlet but psych, Tony can make one in his lab in 2 seconds
- Nat gets no funeral okay
- total pandering with all the women in that final battle
- Captain Marvel was a total cop out when she blasts through the ship??? Also she just fucks off for the entire movie???
- I knoooooow it’s because of symbolism and the full circle thing, but Tony’s death was unnecessary imo and also - thought it would be this whole Guardians of the Galaxy thing where they all wield the stones together
- all of the important character moments and subtle lines were so breezed over that I had to watch it again in order for the film to be any kind of cohesive
So I was pretty upset after watching it the first time. But the second time watching it and being able to pick up those little details that actually helped the story - it was better. A little bit more satisfying. Nat’s death made a lot more sense, because she owed Barton a debt. Cap’s ending made more sense because he had talked to Bucky about it beforehand, hence the “I’m going to miss you” line. Still don’t like the fact that he returned as an old Joe Biden. Like just leave him in the past with Peggy....
Anyone else upset? Let’s get this discussion going. I want alllll the theories and opinions
I feel like I’m part of an elaborate joke
I would like to say a BIG THANK YOU to the man who started it all. Thank you Robert Downey Jr. for everything…
We never forget you, Tony Stark.
2008 - 2019
We will be okay.
Steve saying Hail Hydra should not have been that fucking sexy.
trump’s 1 year anniversary of being president is starting off with the government shutting down that’s the perfect representation of how american politics has been going for the past year
The government got shut down when Obama was president as well.
It’s not new.
Stop blowing it out of proportion.
It’s not a rare occurrence.
When the government shutdown under the Obama administration it was a divided government. Which made more sense because under a divided government it’s harder to compromise.
Here we are, 2018, and the Republicans control ALL branches of the government. They still failed to compromise and negotiate.
This is the first time the government shutdown under a one-party government. Ever.
This is most definitely a rare occurrence. Very rare.
Here we are, once again. Not even a full 12 months later, and yet another Republican shutdown.
#TrumpShutdown
This is actually the third government shut-down this year. The third. There was the first in January, an additional one in February, and now we’re rounding out the year with a third shut-down. There was only one during the entire eight years Obama was President. There have only been nine total shut-downs in the entire history of America. Trump is responsible for a third of all government shut-downs and this has all happened in one year and it is only his second year in office. Is that alarming? That should be really fucking alarming.
Just because someone was abused in the past doesn’t mean they have the right to abuse you.
