I’m not normal. I never have been.

I’ve never fit in, never liked the rules of the world.

I struggled #emotionally in my teens & twenties because #status #quo was the norm all around me, & I didn’t relate to it at all.

I paid cash for and owned three cars before I was 16 yrs old and THAT was normal to me. I taught myself how to drive and THAT was normal. I had my first oral orgasm at 15 & THAT was normal.

Girls hated me. All the older boys flocked to me (puberty & unhealed #sexual #trauma made that a disaster).

School, especially high school, was boring. And I didn’t fit in.

It was horrible. My #anger and #frustration grew, and the worst part was, nobody seemed to understand.

So I grew older. Still a fucking mess. Married. Still a mess. Started multiple #businesses. Still a mess.

Unable to temper my #emotions and direct them #powerfully, they used me and left me embarrassed and often not only feeling, but actually BEING out of control.

But then #desires and deeply held #power started knocking at my inner door.

But I was immature, so I doubted and suppressed it. And if I did let it out, it was either in some fake #confidence, super guarded, #fear-based way or some childish, please-save-me-or-give-me-permission kind of way.

It was all kinds of mess.

Today, after years of fucking up (still do it sometimes), self-abandonment, lying to myself, looking outside myself, and then FINALLY surrendering and getting all kinds of help, I’m finally on the ground.

I’m deeply #connected with both my lower & my higher #nature, which allows me to alchemize and harness all parts of me, and use it #strategically and #purposefully in my #business.

The result? Consistent 5-figure months as an #empathic #coach. Rockstar clients. Living in #Milan. A #luxurious business and life.

But seriously, one of the best parts of this is, even with the #rawness of my #humanity, and my deep #sensitivity, I’m a #free woman.

There are few young artists I’ve encountered in the last 10 years who, upon meeting has instantly inspired me. Like, seriously. Whenever I see Toronto resident/ born and raised Accra, Ghana, West African creative wunderkind, Gyimah Gariba’s work, I am reminded that in some small way, the future of art/animation will be okay for us, lol. I discovered Gyimah’s amazing work online some 3-4 years ago, sharing his work amongst my peers. He was 19 at the time I believe.  I miraculously got to meet him the following year in person on Season 1 of Black Dynamite:The Animated Series. He, along with a couple of other animation expats were there for an internship at Titmouse animation studio helping out on the show. He was 20 years old then, and, imo was just too good for his age. I thought of him an “old soul” in animation: a reincarnation of some art master in a past life, possessing him to spread his skill in this era. In this life, haha. At only 23 years old, he’s just unreal. His work speaks to me in so many ways: it’s vibrant, expressive, genuine and full of love, much like him. I’ve bragged about knowing him often, I’m doing it again. I believe he will be one of the true, new voices in the global animation community. Keep an eye on him, I sure will continue to. ^^

I worked ‘hard’ on ‘softening’ over the years. I started with my language. I connected with words that felt delicious to me—like “delicious” , “grace” , “nourish”, “love”, “charming,” “warm,” “enchanting,” “juicy,” “luscious,” “sweetness"–and the like, and they became active in my everyday vocabulary. I started cooking homemade meals more, tasting and sipping my way into greater softening. I drew closely to nature as a lover and communicated my organs’ desires and dire need to soften for total body wellness. Also I learned to be aware of my tone and harmonize my throat chakra, and my way of communicating shifted over time. Sound is vibration and vibration contribute not only to your body but also the the body of earth, and collective body of humanity. I became more patient with communication. I shamelessly engaged my moans. I softened my sound.

I softened my sound which softened my skin and body which continues to help soften the Earth-body in some way by India Ame’ye, Author (You Look Like Something Blooming)
