I 100% expect us to discover a bizarre but in retrospect, blindingly obvious connection between these in my lifetime.
I'm willing to put $5 on it being related to the genetic connection between Dopamine and Connective Tissue Proteins that causes domestic dogs to be friendlier than their lupine ancestors and more likely to have floppy ears/curly tails. We're not dogs, but seeing how similar the symptoms of domestication are across mammals, I'm thinking we share that particular mechanism.
Now to queue this post for 2074 and see how it plays out...
