“I wouldn’t know anything about Christian Gray. I don’t let myself read garbage like that. It’s not even written that well, for fuckssake,” did he have beef with the 50 Shades franchise? Yes. Would he elaborate on it? No. Beau cleared his throat and shook away the thoughts, “Aw, I’m not just a pretty face to you? So thoughtful of you, A. Really.” He rolled his eyes and dragged her empty bag back to his room, “How am I supposed to know about fancy-ass Vail. I mean, sure, I’ve been to Colorado but like… when I was fifteen for Spring Break with my family. It wasn’t exactly something I’d rave about- although with certain things being legal there now, I suppose I could see the joy.” He didn’t hate the cold either, but the fact was that they lived in the cold, couldn’t she have suggested a vacation to Barbados instead? “Oh, you expect a running bathroom in our place to stay? You realize you’ve been set up with someone that lived out of a van for at least a year and a half of his life, right?” Beau stepped up to the blonde and cupped her face, “If we’re doing this, why shouldn’t I force you to experience it in the poor person way? Give you some real charm to make the peasants without money seem like you’re really out there experiencing life the way it should be- on the road.” He’d sold his van, yes, but there was no reason why he couldn’t con Ana into renting a cool VW bus and road-tripping it to this fancy city. Although, luxurious life did sound nice. “I mean, I wouldn’t say I know how to work one that well,” Beau shrugged his shoulders and tossed the suitcase onto his bed before stepping into his closet to grab a few pairs of pants, “But I mean, it really can’t be that hard, right? Couple photos, some editing, seems easy enough. I took a class in college- a few classes, actually- when I thought that was going to be my life-defining career,” he tossed the pants onto his bed and returned to his closet. “I mean, I’ve got plenty of habits, I guess. I always brush my teeth after every meal,” He poked his head out to look at Ana and shot her a shit-eating grin, his pearly whites flashing under the overhead light in his closet, “I don’t exactly like to stay still, so anything that gets me outside and moving tends to be a habit, I guess. I always loved hiking, though. Exploring. I mean, that’s part of why I lived in a van for so long. Living off the grid, you know?”
“Garbage? Oh please--don’t start acting like reading Shakespeare makes you better than those who read 50 Shades. Plus at least I read. Think about the kind of fake girlfriend I could be if I didn’t.” Ana smirked and shook her head. “Thoughtful’s my middle name, B--didn’t you know? Just trying to live up to my potential.” The words came out more bitter than she had intended, but she hoped that he hadn’t picked up on that. “Woah--woah wait a minute.” She stepped back from him and crossed her arms over her chest quickly. “Do not make me live out of a van. Do you even know what my nightly routine is? I have to have running water at least in order to do sixty percent of it. And trust me when I tell you that you do not want to see what it looks like when I don’t get to do routine.” Her heart raced at the idea of roughing it--and not in a good way. Though she was sure that Beau would have been the best person to have to do that with--it didn’t need to happen. “What’s wrong with a flight?” Her brows furrowed when he spoke about his classes. “You took photography classes? I didn’t realize you had any desire to be a photographer. Do you have a portfolio?” Once again, Ana realized how much she didn’t know about Beau--maybe this trip would give her time to ask questions and actually pay attention--be a better friend. “Oh wow, a model for cleanliness--do you want me to create an award for you? Gold star sticker?” She chuckled slightly before her nose scrunched up. “Hiking. What if you get lost? There’s, like, no cell service out there right?”
