Actually having Scott Summers brainrot rn so lets talk abt this page, because I could talk about it for HOURS.

There's so much going on here that absolutely wrecks me. The vulnerability of being reborn in front of someone you know, without any gaurd over the power you fear most. The implication that Emma was there waiting for his rebirth. The intimacy of her handing him his visor. Scott's absolute exhaustion. The way he's so used to having no time to process his traumas that he *forces* himself into work just to keep going. The way his emotions are just laid bare there for Emma.

I'm in such shambles over the layers to this. Like, I know it's not an intentional detail, but when he settles into Emma's shoulder he looks so so young, and that is just heartbreaking to me. He's been indoctrinated since his youth, and thats something he can't escape even in being reborn. Even in having his memories fucked with for the umpteenth time. Please for the love of god, somebody give this man a hug 😭

There are so many beautiful Emma & Scott moments throughout the Uncanny X-Men run, but I think a personal favorite is when they are in the savage land in Uncanny X-Men #495. It’s so intimate, raw, and sweet. I love these two!
