Our first application since our overhaul!
Hello, everyone! As stated in the title, we are processing our first application since we underwent our massive overhaul! This one comes to us from @anatomical-failure, who personally messaged us from their account. NOTE: We only accept applications from DMs IF THERE IS AN ABSOLUTE NECESSITY FOR YOU TO DO SO!! We unfortunately cannot anonymize applications due to the possibility of pr0sh!pp3rs applying, so if you cannot submit an application normally, please submit it this way! Again, we will only do this for extreme circumstances.
But let's get started! This is their application:
hello! my name is beck and my beloved is named illi mcmillin! we are both applying as students!
i’m applying as an animation student! my qualifications are as follows!
i’ve had a love for animated media since i was a kid, and i even took a shortened course at a college over the summer, taught by industry professionals! i consider myself a good team player and a good communicator, which is all very important in the industry! i’m ready to take on this new challenge and learn all there is to know about the world of animation!
illi, on the other hand, is undecided and has asked for her major to be selected by the university! she loves making music— she’s in a band, after all! she’s a vocalist! —and making comics, zines, and other interesting narrative art! she didn’t do too well academically in high school, but she doesn’t have a genuine love for learning! she just prefers more flexibility and less stress over classwork. she prefers creative problem solving and critical thinking over things with set, concrete answers like mathematical equations and scientific formulas. overall, she’s looking for a major that allows her to be creative and flexible while still challenging herself!
thank you so much! we’re very excited to hear back :)
Congratulations, you two have been accepted into Selfship University!
Welcome aboard! It is an honor to be able to have such creative souls in our university.
[Attention: We are also testing out a new format for application responses, including a different and easier (for Mr. Dreamer) major map format! Let us know how much you like (or dislike) these changes!]
Your Major (Animation, B.F.A.)
For you, Beck, your experience and passion is commendable, and we are more than happy to enroll you in our top-notch animation program.
Degree: Animation, B.F.A.
College: College of Fine Arts and Design
Description: The Bachelor of Fine Arts in Animation is a dynamic, practice-based program designed to cultivate the next generation of visual storytellers. Students will immerse themselves in the core principles of movement, character design, and narrative structure, while mastering industry-standard software and techniques across 2D, 3D, and experimental animation forms. The curriculum emphasizes a collaborative, studio-centric environment that mirrors professional production pipelines, culminating in a thesis film or portfolio project. This program prepares graduates for diverse careers in feature film, television, video games, scientific visualization, and emerging media.
Illi's Major (Comic Art and Graphic Narrative, B.F.A.)
As for Illi, it is understandable that she would like freedom and creativity in her curriculum. Not every student can be a mathematician, or an engineer, or a programmer, and that is perfectly acceptable. You noted that she had a passion for creating comics and graphic novels, and as a result, we have decided to place her in a program that takes this passion to the next level!
Degree: Comic Art and Graphic Narrative, B.F.A.
College: College of Fine Arts and Design
Description: The Bachelor of Fine Arts in Comic Art and Graphic Narrative offers a comprehensive exploration of sequential storytelling.
