The moment a reporter asks Borce Ristevski, in front of his daughter and aunty in law, if he killed his missing wife.

Karen Ristevski was last seen at her home in Avondale Heights, Melbourne by her husband Borce on the 29th of June 2016. Borce reported his wife missing the following day, he told police that they had a minor argument around 10am about money and then she left to ‘clear her head’ and never returned. 

On the 8th of July police questioned Borce over his wife’s disappearance, soon after this Borce stopped cooperating with detectives as he believed they had ‘tunnel vision’ and were looking at no other suspects. Police traced pings from the couple’s phone to towers along the Calder Highway on the day of her disappearance, north west of their home. Mobile data also indicated that Borce’s phone was switched off for 2.5 hours on the day his wife vanished. 

On the 20th of February 2017 a bush walker stumbled across Karen’s remains in a shallow grave between two logs near a trail at Mount Macdeon in Melbourne’s north west. On the 16th of June 2017, police released CCTV footage of a car, similar to the one which Karen owned, travelling towards Mount Macdeon. This video was dated 11:12am the day she disappeared, and police believe Karen’s body was being transported in the car to be disposed of but the footage is too grainy to identify the driver. 

In March Karen’s funeral took place where Borce Ristevski was one of the pallbearers carrying her coffin, while their daughter carried a framed photo of her mother. Yesterday, on the 13th of December 2017, Borce Ristevski was charged with his wife, Karen Ristevski’s, murder.

The Disappearance of William Tyrrell

“Yeah. Hi. My son is missing. He’s 3 and a half.”

Those were the frantic words of a woman who could not find her foster son. Just the day prior to this call being made to 000, on the 11th of September 2014, William Tyrrell, his foster parents, and sister made the four hour car drive from their home in Sydney to William’s foster grandmothers house in Kendall, NSW. Kendall is a small town on the NSW mid North Coast.

The following day, September the 12th, between 10 and 10:25 am, William and his sister were playing hide and seek in the large sloping front and backyard surrounded by bush land, with William growling pretending to be a tiger to scare his older sister. Their mother and grandmother were sitting in the backyard watching them and having a cup of tea. Soon William’s mother realised that she hadn’t heard any of his growls or giggles for 5 or so minutes and she becomes worried. She frantically began searching the yard and the house but to no avail. She couldn’t find William. At this point William’s foster dad arrives home after working in town, he sees his panicked wife who tells him that she can’t find William. He runs out into the street and starts searching, grabbing neighbours to help him search. At 10:56 am, William’s distraught foster mother calls 000 to report him missing and the police arrived at 11:06.

Former Bosnian Croatian war lord, Slobodan Praljak, committed suicide at the Hague on the 29th of November 2017 by drinking poison after shouting “I am not a war criminal”. This came moments after his appeal against a 20-year sentence was turned down. This sentence came from his conviction for his role in the unlawful imprisonment and murder of Bosnian Muslims. 

According to a UN press release, he was charged and convicted of:

nine counts of grave breaches of the Geneva conventions.

nine counts of violations of the laws or customs of war

eight counts of crimes against humanity.

As he had already served more than two thirds of his sentence, he would have probably been released soon.

Australia’s Highest Security Prison

Home to the likes of Ivan Milat, Robert Hughes, Michael Kanaan and Malcolm Naden, Goulburn Correctional Centre is an Australian super-maximum prison for males. It is situated in Goulburn, NSW.

András Pándy (first picture) born 1 june 1927, died 22-23 december 2013 was a Belgian serial killer and rapist who was convicted for 6 murders on his family.

András Pándy was an Hungarian vicar who married Ilona Sores on 17 september 1956 and moved with her to Belgium in 1957. They got their first daughter named Agnes (second picture) in 1958. Their second child was Daniël who was sadly retarded and was born in 1961. Their last son was born in 1966 and was named Zoltan. Only one year after Zoltan was borned, Ilona decided to leave her tyrannical husband. She moved out with her son Daniël and divorced András Pándy in 1967. In 1969, he started a relationship with his 11 years old daughter Agnes. 

In 1979, he remarries the Hungarian Edit Fintor. She brings her 3 daughters Tímea (15), Tünde (8) and Andrea (7) from 2 other marriages with her. Pándy was a vicar and teached in national schools. In 1980, his second wife Edit Fintor gave birth to a boy which was named after András and in 1981, his daughter Réka was born. 

In 1984 Pándy starts a relationship with Edits daughter Tímea, who was 20 years old. Tímea get’s pregnant. Tímea tries to hide her pregnancy. When Pándy sends his steph daughter to his oldest daughter Agnes, Agnes tried to kill her from jealousy. Tímea ends up in the hospital and files a complaints with the police. Afterwards she gets an apartment and gives birth to her son Marc. In 1986, Timea emigrates with her son Marc to Canada where an uncle from her mother lives. Before she leaves, she tells her mother that Pándy is the biological father of Marc.

When his second wife Edit wanted to leave with her daughter Andrea, thet both got killed by Pándy and Agnes who helped him. He told Edit’s family that she went to Germany with her lover and daughter. Two years later, his first wife Ilona and her son Daniël (27) where brutally murdered by Agnes who shot them in the back of their head when she had lured them in the basement. Zoltan (22) had found clues of the murder of his brother and mother but got killed too. 

Pándy sends in 1989 his  daughter Agnes with the little Réka and András jr. to the beach so he could kill Tünde, Edits second child. Ágnes does a declaration in 1992 on her missing family and incest by her father. Réka and András were put in a childcare. Pándy knew to fool the police for a long time by asking friends from Hungary to sent letters who would be signed by “Ilona Sores” and “Edit Fintor”. The police asks In 1996 the Hungarian community for collaboration in this case. They discovered the trick with the fake letters in their fatherland and sent the evidence to the Belgian police. Pándy got arrested on 16 october 1997. The police started with excavation work in Pándy’s house (third picture) and later discoverd tooths from his victims. Agnes later confessed the murders in a calm emotionless way and had told the police how they let the corpses ‘dissapear’. They filled the bathtub with liquid plumber and had put the severed limbs in the bathtub for a day. The next day, almost everything would be turned into ‘slime’.  Pándy later died in his cell in Brugge in 2013. Just like the Belgian serial killer Marc Dutroux, was this one of the most infamous serial killers in Belgium.

The Hall-Mills Murder, is an unsolved murder case and is known as the most notorious murder in New Jersey history. Its scandalous details include an affair between a pastor and his choir singer, who were both married, and the prosecutions key witness, the “Pig Lady”. A pair of teenagers went on a stroll on the evening of September 16, 1922, and stumbled upon a pair of bodies in a field in Franklin Township. The bodies (pictured above) had been posed. The man had a hat covering his face, his calling card was propped up against his shoe, and his right arm was wrapped around the shoulder of the woman. The woman’s hand had been moved   post-mortem to the man’s right thigh. Both their feet had been moved to point toward a nearby crab-apple tree. Upon closer evaluation of the crime scene torn pieces of paper were found, they were a collection of love letters, from the couple, spanning years.

The bodies were identified as Reverend Edward W. Hall and Eleanor Reinhardt Mills.  They were both shot in the head by a .32-calibre pistol. Hall was shot once over his right ear, the bullet exited at the back of his neck. Mills was shot three times, under the right eye, over the right temple, and over the right ear, her throat had been cut, and it was later determined that her tongue and larynx had been severed. The police suspected Hall’s wife and cousin and they brought all their evidence, or lack thereof, to trial. 

The trial against Mrs. Hall and her brothers commenced November 3rd, 1923. This is where “The Pig Lady”, Jane Gibson, comes into the scene, unfortunately she had fallen ill. She was so feeble that she was bed-ridden and had to be rolled into the courtroom on her bed. During multiple interviews with the police, press, and at the trial her account of what happened varied. Her mother, who was also present in the courtroom, stood and yelled that her daughter was a liar which did not help the prosecutors argument. After the 30 day trial, the prosecution did not accrue enough evidence to convict the Carpender-Stevens family.

It really surprises me how little there is on tumblr about Gary Heidnik. I’ll definitely be doing posts about him but damn he is one of the very few killers (I’m looking at you Schaefer) that genuinely gives me the heebie jeebies. He kept women in his basement as slaves, tortured them and fed them dog food. When one of the women died he minced her body up and fed her to his other captives. The sheer depravity and callousness of that coupled with the fact that he genuinely believed he was doing the right thing really gets to me. 

Does anybody know any good books/documentaries about him?

Have you heard of Linda Weston?  She freaks me out just as much as Gary does.  If you want to read a book on him I suggest…

I know a few people who have letters from him and it makes me jealous.  You should see some of the crazy shit Linda Weston writes in her letters, though.  That woman gives me goosebumps.

On 7 October, 2012, Ryan and Karen Kapp called the police; they were worried that their 13-year-old son, Zachary Proper, had gotten drunk and stolen his grandparent’s, 69-year-old George Fross and 67- Dorothy Fross, car. The truth was far more sinister. Authorities went to the Frosses’ home and began to question Proper, who immediately confessed that he had shot and killed his grandparents. He explained that she was visiting his grandparents when he took boltcutters to remove a lock on his grandfather’s gun safe and retrieved a handgun. He then “walked up behind his grandmother, put his iPod earphones in, pointed the gun at his grandmother about shoulder height, turned his head away and raised the gun slightly and shot her.” His grandfather, who had been at the grocery store, was unloading the car when Zachary told him he was going to help him. Instead, Zachary went up to his grandfather and shot him dead. The motivation for these senseless killings was never revealed. Zachary was said to have a very close relationship with his grandparents and would always be spending time at their house. The crime scene revealed that they had brought Zachary his favourite snacks and had been playing cards before the murder. Under Pennsylvania law, Zachary was charged as an adult and sentenced to 35-80 years in prison. He committed suicide in his cell in 2015, at the age of just 15.

Have you heard of the novel The Collector? It's about a young college student being held hostage by a man who is obsessed with her. Do you know any cases in real similar to this book?

Of course. It’s one of my favourite books! I can’t think of any cases that are similar, no. I suppose you would say that people that stalk their victims before abducting them are obsessed with them, but as for abducting them in the hopes they fall in love with them like the plot of The Collector, I’m unsure of any cases…

The Murder of Elizabeth Short, AKA The Black Dahlia

On the morning of January 15, 1947, a housewife named Betty Bersinger was walking down a residential street in central Los Angeles with her 3-year-old daughter when something caught her eye. It was a cold, overcast morning, and she was on her way to pick up a pair of shoes from the cobbler.

At first glance, Bersinger thought the white figure laying a few inches from the sidewalk was a broken store mannequin. But a closer look revealed the hideous truth: It was the body of a woman who’d been cut in half and was laying face-up in the dirt. The woman’s arms were raised over her head at 45-degree angles. Her lower of half was positioned a foot over from her torso, the straight legs spread wide open. The body appeared to have been washed clean of blood, and the intestines were tucked neatly under the buttocks. Bersinger shielded her daughter’s eyes, then ran with her to a nearby home to call the police.

Two detectives were assigned to the case, Harry Hansen and Finis Brown. By the time the duo arrived at the crime scene — on Norton Avenue between 39th and Coliseum streets in Los Angeles — it was swarming with reporters and gawkers who were carelessly trampling the evidence. The detectives ordered the crowd to back off, then got down to business.

From the lack of blood on the body or in the grass, they determined the victim had been murdered elsewhere and dragged onto the lot, one piece at time. There was dew under the body, so they knew it had been placed there after 2 a.m., when the outside temperature dipped to 38 degrees.

The victim’s face was horribly defiled: the murderer had used a knife to slash 3-inch gashes into each corner of her mouth, giving her the death grin of a deranged clown. Rope marks on her wrists and ankles indicated she’d been restrained, and possibly tortured.

By measuring the two halves of the corpse, the detectives estimated the victim’s height to be 5'6 and her weight to be 115 pounds. Her mousy brown hair had been recently hennaed, and her fingernails were bitten to the quick.

Gary Addison Taylor was an American serial killer and rapist suspected of having killed a total of 20 people from 1972 to 1975 in several states of the U.S. He would wait, at night, around bus stops, for lonely women to leave the bus, he would then attack them with a hammer and sexually assault them. Taylor was charged with a sexual assault on May 20, 1975, and arrested. While in custody Taylor admitted to having committed four murders and was later charged with other four, the police believed he was involved in at least 20 unsolved murders but lacked evidence to charge him. He was found guilty of the four murders he confessed and sentenced to life imprisonment in 1976.
