Anders balked a bit. âOh. Sorry. I was wondering where I left that.â He scratched at the base of his neck. âBut I will go on a date. I do need a break.â He replied despite the pull of argument from Justice.

Anders shrugged. "I'm sure you noticed but sometimes my marbles aren't all in the same bag." He gave Hawke an apologetic smile. "I'm a bit scattered..."

Anders made a small purring noise at the attention on his head. âYou better not.â He mumbled, too sleepy for it to be anywhere near threatening. Before long Andersâ breath had evened out as he slipped into unconsciousness.
They both settled comfortably in each othersâ arms. Unfortunately, it didnât bring peace to Raelenâs sleep. Â The idea he had to tell his sister the truth was plaguing his dreams. He didnât want to ruin her wedding day. He was awake some time before Anders because of it.Â
Raelen took a deep breath as he looked in the mirror. He looked like he had no sleep, and topped it off with a killer hangover. He groaned as he began to feel sobriety creep up on him. He looked back at the door to his bedroom, where Anders lay in his clothes. What was he doing?
There was no doubt in his mind. He loved Anders.Â
Except he wasnât sure he could break his sisterâs heart in the process of all this. Maker, what did he do to deserve this?
He walked back into the room and shook Anders awake. âWe have a wedding to crash.â He mumbled.
Anders brow knitted together as he was roused into consciousness...but not fully. "Let Hawke have his day, Bela." He mumbled. "Dun' wanna crash his wedding." He turned, reaching for a pillow to curl against before finally blinking his eyes open. "Fuck." He groaned. "My head hurts..." He whined, pouting at Raelen.

Raelen hummed, giving Anders a lazy smile as he turned his head and took the thumb in his mouth. Teasing the digit with his tongue, his eyes fluttered as he looked up. His hands moved down the back of Andersâ thighs and gave them a squeeze.
The truth was, he had been thinking of this more than he would like to admit. He was a bit nervous, so the reassurance was welcomed. He sucked lightly on Andersâ thumb as he swirled his tongue around it.Â
Anders swallowed at the image. âRaelenâŚmakerâs balls, thatâs hot.â Anders swore, mouth hanging slightly open. Heâd never actually gotten this view before. It was just proving that Raelen looked damn good from every angle.

Anders trailed a finger under Raelenâs jaw. âI usually am more comfortable in the bedroom.â He teased before turning to move rooms. He made a show of swaying his hips as he walked.
Raelen hummed softly and grinned at Anders as he followed him. His eyes watched the sway of his hips. His boyfriend was such a beautiful man, he almost couldnât stand it. âThose look amazing on you.â He said, sitting on the edge of the bed. He grabbed his lap desk and settled himself against the headboard. âYou can just lay however you want at the end of the bed.â He smiled.Â
Anders nodded, laying on his stomach, arms stretched out in front of him and his head turned to look at Raelen. His legs swung idely in the air, bent at the knee. "How's this?" He asked cheekily with a smug grin.

Anders let out a strangled sob, turning his head away from Raelen as he slumped against the wall, hand coming up to his face as the tears flowed freely. âWhyâŚyou donât have to go.â Anders said quietly through his own sobs, turning back to face Raelen, as painful as it was. Raelen didnât love him. Raelen wanted him but he wasnât enough. Anders wasnât enough for Raelen to stay. The very thought shattered his heart.
âI am sorry, Anders.â Raelen shook his head. âI-I do have to go.â He hurt too much to stay, and he had no way of comforting Anders without taking it all back. He knew this was for the best. Perhaps through some time, they could be friends again. Given time, theyâd talk and it would all be fine, right? Then maybe, if things were meant to be, they could talk about it. âYou⌠will be great⌠but I.. have to do this.â
Anders shook his head silently. "You're breaking my heart." He whispered as he slid down into a sitting position against the wall. "Was all that time I spent loving you a waste? Did it mean nothing?" He asked out loud, mostly to himself. He crossed his arms, holding himself for comfort. He wouldn't be fine. Raelen was leaving and he was taking Anders heart with him. How dare he come in, make Anders fall in love with him. Anders, who thought he could never love again. And then leave. Shattering what was left of the blonde's heart before just...leaving.
"So this is were you've been hiding." Leah Amell leaned against the door of her old friend's clinic.
Anders turned, slowly raising an eyebrow.âAmell? Andrasteâs holy tits is that really you?â He asked.
âItâs me.â Leah smiled and stepped inside. âHeard from Stroud you were in the area⌠and I couldnât help myself. Life at the Vigil is kind of boring these days. All those dark spawn donât know how to party anymore.â She shrugged as she walked towards him. âNo surprise invasions through our basement, no intelligent conversation. Theyâre so dull, plus the only warden with a good sense of humor left without saying goodbye.â

âOh, Iâm exaggeratingâŚVelanna tells the funniest jokes.â She said sarcasm and gave him her biggest, brightest fake smile. Then she dropped the act and pouted. âItâs horrible! Maker, I hate it. Now that weâve driven the darkspawn back into the deep roads thereâs nothing to do! Except the whole Arlessa thing and that I hate even more. So when I heard you were here, I left Nate in charge of the keep and came find you.â
Anders let out a loud laugh before raising an eyebrow at her. "Nate's running the keep? Well, you may return to find it burnt to a crisp." He teased. "How did you find out I was here, though?" He asked.
