Many thanks to @ronavorona16 for the wonderful portrait of my Elrina. 😘 She’s clearly anxious about what her new day as a Rogue Trader will bring.

An impossible choice!
And that's not surprising:
Несколько прохождений моя РТ летала на таком кораблике:
Кто меня знает, тот в курсе, что у меня очень плохо с фантазией на имена и названия.
(То же самое произошло с названием корабля Эльрины в фанфике. 😁)
И тут в ДХ мой аколит получает ганкаттер под названием...
Придется всю жизнь летать на этих Приговорах!
Я даже вынесу это в отдельный пост, настолько комично смотрится это сохранение перед встречей с Хейнриксом. 😁
Тем временем "любовь моя":

@ravelsquadespresso I make them with the help of Toybox. I used this guide by @primarchslut . During the dialogues you can't zoom camera with WASD, so you need to use "Field of view" slider and "Camera elevation offset" (ctrl + mouse scrollwheel).
You find something you want to screenshot, tick necessary options in Toybox and then play with camera and zoom it to maximum with mouse scrollwheel and W (they do different zooms). Full screenshot:
Actually my pc is something like a calculator, so the resolution is not very high. And I don't edit screenshots, otherwise they'd look much better.

Looking at my post about one of the Museion endings I remembered that I saw something similar in localization files regarding Bottomless pit. When I looked at the conditions, I realized that I've never failed willpower check. It would be funny if it also was the end of the game. After all we can be killed by Malice in Commorragh if we fail check.
(I need more surprising endings! 😁)
Hiii if it's not too much trouble, could you share a bit more about how you managed to extract the banter text from the Rogue Trader game files? I would really like to write a paper on it as an example of Russian-English and English-Russian localization, but for that I'd obviously need a lot of text material at hand!
Oh, for sure! For text in Rogue Trader there are three main sources/tools I pull from -
The localization file (found in "[game install folder]\WH40KRT_Data\StreamingAssets\Localization", ex for me it's "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Warhammer 40,000 Rogue Trader\WH40KRT_Data\StreamingAssets\Localization\enGB.json") which is just a giant list of all the text strings in the game. For looking at translations, you can compare any string by searching for the same UUID between the enGB and ruRU files. Ex:
The WhRtModificationTemplate, which is the Rogue Trader modding tool Owlcat published. Instructions for how to set it up are here. I mostly use it for the dialogue view tool (Design > Dialog Editor) which shows conversation trees. Sometimes there are dev comments in Russian though which could be useful for you:
BubblePrints, which is a tool for more easily viewing Owlcat game data, found here. Searching for "t:barkbanterlist" gives you all the party banter lists, and so I just went through those one by one copy pasting the strings for the banter spreadsheet. This one looks like it does all the filtering to English, so you may have to jump back to the modification template to get the full localization for any given string. It gives an output like this:
Hope this helps! I'd be interested to read your paper too :>
Just finished my Infinite Museion run and you won't believe what I was thinking about since the incident in Sector Bionica. That's not much of a spoiler, but the only thing I was worried about until the end of the game is VIVISECTOR MARTINAX'S ARMS! Like, come on Owlcats, we have fully upgraded Throne, half of my bag is packed with augments and... ??? I'm glad that at least in epilogues everything is ok.
Yep, that's my impressions about the last DLC. 😁
"Not a day without a bug" section. Spoilers for one of the Infinite Museion's endings.
Trazyn not only managed to imprison Elrina in his Museion, but he also swapped her body with Heinrix's! 😮
Or maybe he caught them both? Imagine an infinity with Heinrix on this ship's eternal loop. Is it good, is it bad, is it horrifying? As much as I love him I think the latter. 😨
Вот как могло обернуться ее путешествие во времени. Кто дочитал мой фанфик, может представить себе весь трагизм ситуации. Пойду поплачу.
Thank you so much for that post about biomancy! I was wondering if there's some explanation about how Heinrix also chose "sanctic discipline". Mechanically he has it in game but we don't see much usage of it. Only his words: "The Lord Inquisitor was most insistent that I master the discipline of Sanctic Daemonology." Maybe he could purify heretic RT with it as Xavier does it if you repent.
Hi! Thank you! I am glad if it could help 💖
True, we do see more of his biomancy. I think he might have used sanctic discipline on Kiava Gamma while working on the cogitator:
As soon as Heinrix takes another step toward the cogitator, it emits a deafening shriek like hundreds of metal needles driving into toughened glass, as though sensing the stranger. Wincing, Heinrix approaches the control panel and bends down toward the screens. Despite the heat clogging the room, you feel an ice-cold breeze — Heinrix is clearly using his psyker abilities to try to fend off the pernicious effects of the Chaos artefact.
And this one from an event, I belief:
"Emperor's mercy, do not forsake your loyal servants now!" Van Calox's voice cut sharply through the panic that had descended upon the brave scouts like a net cast by an unseen hand. The psyker's eyes gleamed softly in the gloom — the touch of his sorcery drove the taint of weakness from the scouts' souls, and the sinister voice vanished as if it had never been there. After regrouping, the team retreated to the shuttle."
And maybe even here during the ritual in Voidshadows DLC:
A hand is laid on your shoulder. For a second, a golden flash breaks through the ruthless white light, and you hear a fragment of a sentence: "…brace yourself…"
Xavier is not a psyker, but he is performing a ritual, and I believe that is usually called sorcery (though Heinrix in-game dialogue often uses the term for psychic/psyker powers as well, I have noticed) - and non-psykers can do that too. But I would also expect that it belongs to the same school/field.
It is a very useful discipline that any psyker should have - but not everyone can do it (more to this later).
It could be something Heinrix specific, but it is also possible that psykers learn at least some basics about other fields - maybe just that they exist, how to recognise them perhaps.
On Janus, Heinrix senses psychic powers and know it is a bewitching spell - but - it is possible of course, that he just sensed something and given the reaction of the rebels, came to the logical conclusion it has to be mind affecting.
In the tabletop game that RT is based on, all psykers have a skill called "Psyniscience", which is basically like an Awareness skill for warp-related phenomena. To start with its something they have to focus and actively use, like when you close your eyes and listen hard to something just outside your hearing, but it can be improved with training. Even if we take that as a symptom of the game system, it makes sense to me that learning to feel the movement of the warp around you would be a foundational skill for all psykers. And the name is as good as any.
That ability would be how Heinrix can tell if you're a psyker when you first meet, and it's how any sanctioned psyker would be able to tell that the rebels on Janus were under the influence of something. Heinrix's additional training would be how he could make a fairly solid guess about what sort of power was influencing them, even if he doesn't have a knack for mental powers himself.
(I miss my astropath from the tabletop game. I put so many boosts and talents onto his Psyniscience that it was effectively turned on passively at all times. Couple that with his Telepathy and Telekinesis and one of the other members of the party complained it was nearly impossible to sneak up on him. Which was needed, because he was the super-squishy support character.)
That's interesting! I think psykers in Rogue Trader have this "skill" by default. We see how Heinrix reacts to warp manifestations several times - @cawyden-gaming wrote about it here.
Also I wonder what Heinrix uses in Kiava Gamma when Uralon attacks RT mentally. Is it sanctic or telepathy in this case?
"Heinrix is standing beside you, white as a sheet, eyes wide, grimacing. The air around him seems to roil — though the phenomenon passes almost immediately. As he begins to speak, his voice sounds hoarse and cracked: "That… was not easy."
"One of the traitors to the Imperium? I don't think it was he who touched your mind — I wouldn't have had the strength to go up against a psyker from the ranks of those monsters. He might have forced some mortal to do his bidding. Perhaps it was through the same hapless medium that he sensed the deaths of his henchmen." Heinrix looks away and frowns. "Such indescribable power… to have reached out to your mind at such a distance…"
I think that is sanctic - fighting off enemy psykers. @cursed-40k-thoughts has made a post about what sanctic daemonology entails.
Maybe this is also what Heinrix used on Rykad minoris to help Idira or a psyker RT; in this case not to fend off a psyker but warp influence in general?

Luckily he did listen to his Lord Captain.

taking non-small steps :)
You know, Glaito tried to run away with Heinrix on my current run. What a coincidence. 😁
Speaking about Owlcat's games and their love interests.
First man became the reason why I didn't touch any romance in Pathfinder Kingmaker. After certain ingame events I started a new game without even finishing the first run. And I gave him a happiest ending. My Baroness was heart-broken.
Second man (gnome?) became the reason why I didn't have any romance in Pathfinder Wrath of the Righteous. Again. I still consider Aeon ending with Ascension the best for him. But my Knight Commander was devastated by the outcome.
Third man became my first game romance ever. And I still can't get enough of him. My Lord Captain is the happiest woman.
I guess all three have something in common.
i wish rogue trader kept some of the sanctioning effects from dark heresy (as the original ttrpg rogue trader used the rules from dark heresy) because having a negative effect from sanctioning would help for rping purposes... sigh
witch prickling, for example, is kind of represented by the Shadow of Torment darkest hour, but i wish there was ways to make it more in depth, or elaborate on it. one of my psykers has a ripped lip and damaged eyelid, which results in a lisp + weakened/lacking vision... it'd be cool if there was a way in game to select more specific negative quirks or abilities.
