I made brownies last night and they’re pretty freaking awesome and no one will ever take that away from me. 👊

“Democracy, uh, finds a way.”
Life update 📢 🙂👇 . I am excited to share that I will be starting work with @roushyatesengines on Monday, September 10. I have accepted the position of Social Media Coordinator. . I am thankful for the time I’ve spent at the @MoravianBCM. My last day will be Thursday, September 7. The relationships and memories I’ve developed through working for the church mean a lot to me. Over three years as the Communications Project Manager, the BCM has helped me enhance existing professional skills and develop new ones on top of my studio artist roots. I couldn’t have asked for better leadership and coworkers to work with at the BCM and in our affiliated ministries. . As a lifelong @nascar fan (and walking trivia/history book) I am super excited to be entering the motorsports industry. Roush Yates Engines grew out of two legendary names in NASCAR: Jack Roush and Doug Yates. Engines built by Roush Yates propelled @kurtbusch to his 2004 NASCAR Cup championship with the #97 Ford Roush Racing team. This season, Roush Yates engines have carried NASCAR superstar and 2014 Cup champion @kevinharvick to a career best seven wins, with twelve races still remaining in the season. . Roush Yates Engines is the exclusive engine manufacturer for @fordperformance, the racing division of @ford. In addition to supplying engines to NASCAR Ford teams, they construct engines for Fords racing in @imsa_racing’s SportsCar series and in @fia.official’s @fiawec (which includes one of racing’s biggest crown jewel events, the 24 Hours of LeMans in France). Roush Yates is also a CNC manufacturer, making parts for a variety of industries. . I’ve enjoyed getting to know the company, and meeting legendary engine builder Doug Yates, CEO of Roush Yates. Many of you know how much I love racing and NASCAR in particular, so to get an opportunity like this is a surreal and exciting adventure! . A South African, three Americans, two Czechs, a Briton, a Tanzanian, a Peruvian, a Netherlander, and a German walk into a coffee shop... . They’re all apart of the (Moravian) Unity Youth Heritage tour. . I took some of the Unity youth to the Liberty Arts Coffee House for a quick visit today during free time. It and the emerging ministry model of Come & Worship (which I shared some about with them) seemed to have made a good impression on our international young people. Some also enjoyed the same coffee our Come & Worship attendees enjoy every Sunday. 🙂 . This, along with sharing with some of the same people the Laurel Ridge Northern, Western, Eastern overlooks and the Green Cathedral, have been some of the highlights of my weekend. . You begin to realize how important the things in your life are when you get to share them with special people who have never experienced or seen those things before. . . . . . . . #MoravianChurch #MoravianMinistry #Moravians #Moravian #UnityYouthTour #Church #InstaChurch #WSNC #UnitasFratrum #Coffee (at Liberty Arts Coffee House)

“Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up.” - Pablo Picasso . There are a lot of amazing talented adult artists out there. Each one of them is talented in a different way. But one is particularly relevant to the piece pictured here. . I remember learning about Picasso in art school was his creative process that drove much of his work. As an adult, he sought to recapture the way children saw the world, and the way they expressed that through their art. There’s a freeness, simplicity, and purity in the way children create art. . Picasso also notably said, “It took me four years to paint like Raphael, but a lifetime to paint like a child.” . And on a related note, Jesus said this, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.” . Go check out @moravianbcm for more about this piece of art I’m helping create for the #MoravianChildrensFestival. . . . . . . . #MoravianMinistry #MoravianChurch #Moravian #Moravians #Art #FineArt #Artwork #Graphite #Drawing #Trees #Artist #Nature #WSNC #ChidrensFestival #FaithLoveHope #InAllThingsLove (at Winston-Salem, North Carolina)

reasons to love harrison ford
1. hates donald trump 2. got his ear pierced at claires because why not 3. legit asks people to beat him up in action scenes EVEN NOW AS AN OLD MAN 4. is arguably one of the most iconic star wars characters yet couldnt give less of a crap abt star wars 5. the universe tried to kill him (or at least permanently incapacitate him) twice in 2015 and it only mildly inconvenienced him 6. flies helicopters in search and rescue missions 7. was in his 40s for the majority of the indiana jones series which is insane when you think about all the stunts involved 8. quote “the director yells cut and harrison cracks open a beer and then builds a fucking shed” 9. arguably sexy 10. points angrily and its super effective
11. is just a really sweet person 12. no really my dad worked with him on firewall as the tech advisor and he was just a really swell guy 13. got my mom’s birth date from my dad and sent her flowers 14. he sent my mom flowers for her birthday 15. he didn’t even know her he just wanted to be sweet
this was a beautiful and necessary edition to this post thank you oh my god
Awwwww

When he was asked to be in Jimmy Kimmel’s “I’m Fucking Ben Affleck” video, in which he pulled up alongside them in a car and gave Jimmy a little wink and an air-kiss, when he showed up at the set he looked kind of put out. Kimmel was afraid he wasn’t down with what they were asking. But he just said, “I don’t know, this wardrobe…don’t you have anything mesh that I could wear?”
When he was filming “Witness” he rented a small farm from a friend of mine. At the end of the filming my friend went and checked out the property as usual. He noticed the barn door had been leveled so it no longer would swing open on it’s own. Went into the house and saw the closets had been redone, in the kitchen the cabinets had been replaced and all the drawers now opened really well. Turns out that there were thousands of dollars of work and materials put into fixing up everything at the place.
My friend called Ford and asked him how much he was asking for the work. Ford told him doing that kind of thing helped him relax and stay sane when he was filming. Would not take a dime. Plus he paid for a new water heater and got the sewage system cleaned out.
And he paid rent to live there the entire time.
Local Carpenter Stumbles Into Stardom, Worries This May Interfere With His Carpentry
My step sister was driving through Wyoming once, near Ford’s ranch. She stops for gas, and as she’s filling up, this huge motorcycle roars in behind her, scared the pants off her. The rider, dressed in all black steps off, and she yells at him “who do you think you are blasting in here like that, you Darth Vader looking motherfucker?”. He takes off the helmet, and it’s Harrison Ford, and without missing a beat he says
“Hey! I’m not Darth Vader, I’m Luke Skywalker”
From the co-production designer on The Force Awakens, Darren Gilford:
“The Millennium Falcon was the first thing we were actually building. I had been in London and I came home back to L.A. for Christmas. So I go to Sports Chalet to do some last-minute shopping; I get there early, run to the back of the store, get what I need. I’m coming back through the store, and I just happen to pass this person holding up a pair of ski pants, and it’s Harrison Ford. I look at him, he looks at me and puts his head right down. I can tell he doesn’t want to be bothered; I’m sure from the look on my face he knew I knew who he was.
So I walk past him, and after about 10 feet I think, ‘If there’s ever a time to say hello to Harrison Ford, I’m building the Millennium Falcon!’ So I turn around very hesitantly and go, ‘Harrison, I’m sorry to bother you. I’m co-production designer on the new Star Wars, I’m just back from London, and I’ve been building the Falcon.’ A big smile came across his face, he put his hand out, and we had such a great conversation — he couldn’t have been sweeter.
As I’m walking away, he goes, ‘Darren!’ and calls me back. He goes, ‘The toggle switches.’ I go, ‘Toggle switches.’ He goes, ‘The toggle switches on the Falcon. When they built it the first time, they bought cheap toggle switches without any springs in them. Every time I threw a toggle switch, it fell back; it wouldn’t hold. It drove me crazy. Please, make sure the toggle switches are fixed this time.’ I go, ‘No problem! I’ll take care of it!’
So months go by, I’m back in London, we’re getting close [to principal photography], and I get a phone call saying J.J.’s headed down to check out the cockpit, and Harrison’s with him. I run down there and I see J.J. in the passenger seat and Harrison in the pilot seat. They’re just giddy; they’re having so much fun. And then I see Harrison look up, and he just starts throwing all the toggle switches: boom, boom, boom, boom. [Laughs.] And I remember thinking, ‘Phew, minor victory. Take solace in that and move on. Next task.’ That’s my favorite story.”

The main emblem logo and secondary wordmark logo for the upcoming Moravian Ministry Voyage. The ship in the emblem is based upon a model and historical artwork of the Moravian vessel "Irene." "Irene" ferried Moravian missionaries from Europe to North America in the 1700s. The Moravian Church in America, Southern Province's Moravian Ministry Voyage will kick off on August 19, with the FIFTH annual Children's Festival and Lovefeast. The festival will be held at Hope Moravian Church, and will include the learning of Hope's history, general Moravian history, and teasers of the Moravian musical, "Irene: the Adventure Begins." The Voyage will conclude with the Moravian Ministry Voyage fair and the first ever Southern Province production of "Irene: the Adventure Begins" on September 15. The fair, held at Advent Moravian (along with the musical), will feature agencies and ministries of the Southern Province. The musical will tell the story of the "Irene" and its passengers' bravery and dedicated faith. Follow the Moravian Board of Cooperative Ministries (BCM) on social media to stay up to date on the Moravian Ministry Voyage. #MoravianVoyage
It's Friday the 13th. If 13 friends donated $10 each, I would surpass my $200 fundraising goal for the NEWHOPE 5K run tomorrow.
Please consider giving to support Hospice today. See the link below. Thanks 🙂

On the plague “credit to artist”
Please don’t do this. It’s so rude, and inconsiderate.
Google makes it so simple to reverse image search, and find the appropriate artist to credit.
Remember, an artists work is their life blood. Simply putting “credit to artist” doesn’t do much other than say that you didn’t make the piece. That’s already easy to tell by first glance. Especially if you’re harbouring so many different artist’s work on your webpage, blog, etc.
However, if you properly credit your artist, they could possibly get a new audience (your audience) to view their work on their page. This could possibly lead to getting more work, commission jobs, etc. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve gotten commission work because someone found my work through a friend of a friend of a friend’s reblog. Not a repost.
Please always properly credit. It’s the least anyone could do to support an artist who’s work you admired enough to steal and repost.
And hey! You don’t even have to spend a dime. :)
