With bitter-sweetness I designed the poster for the last-ever punk show at Cairo in Seattle. Years ago I moved back home from art school, and not having a car was literally stuck up north in my mom’s house. On social media I kept getting invited to events at the space, and found a lot of cool local artists and bands through it, but only a few years ago lived in a proximity that allowed me to attend. Back when I was stuck in the burbs I had fantasies of showing work there, and ~full circle~ some of my first art shows were there! So blah blah what I’m trying to say is that this space means a lot to me and having been involved to the extent I have meant so much more gratification/actualization than anyone who allowed me to could have known, and I am so thankful for that.
