"Which?" did a good job testing battery life of popular tablets. Android tablets are not the best, but not the worst either. Unfortunately, this test actually missed the (to be) worst - Microsoft Surface Pro, whose battery life is said by Microsoft to be about half of Surface RT, that's 250 in this chart.

Jason Perlow from ZDNet gripes about Galaxy Nexus, so called the "flagship Google experience Android device", having issues with LTE tethering and having been rife with software bugs. He was so frustrated that he wanted to "throw this Korean piece of junk against the wall".

If the flagship Google experience is like this, what about those non-flagship experiences?

Samsung is finding itself in a spot of bother this morning, as a particular piece of HTML code has emerged that, when clicked, instantly resets the Galaxy S II — and potentially other Android devices running the TouchWiz UI.

I'm wondering how come Samsung didn't put such nice feature into their iPhone 5 comparison ad. Apparently iPhone 5 missed this feature.

Reported by TNW, Indian bloggers were brought by Samsung to its Mob!ler program in Berlin, but later they were threatened to be stranded in Berlin, unless they put on Samsung's uniform and show products to attendants of the press at Samsung's booths.

Samsung is just a company that you cannot trust.

Apple’s iPhone 5 looks set to grab a big chunk of current Android users, according to a survey by TechBargains.com. More than 20 percent of the respondents who identified themselves as Android users said they plan to dump their current handset for Apple’s next iPhone.

Why shouldn't they? :)

Since the $1.05 billion verdict Friday — which found that Samsung infringed on six Apple patents — customers of Samsung have been dumping their Android products on at least one major resale site. Gazelle.com reports a 50% increase in Samsung smartphones over the past three days, which has led to a 10% drop in prices for those devices. “Consumers seem to be jumping ship,” says Anthony Scarsella, chief gadget officer at Gazelle.com. “We expect this trend to continue, especially with this latest verdict.”

Apparently many Android users do care about right versus wrong. John Gruber is right, "the PR value of this verdict is far higher".

My theory remains that Mayer personally uses and prefers the iPhone. I think she has good taste, especially by the standards of Google and Yahoo executives. Her influence fell at Google as Android’s rose.

Having good taste is a "disadvantage" for her.

Jonathan Dann, the leader of the iOS Facebook app rebuilding:

So while utilizing web technology has allowed us to support more than 500 million people using Facebook on more than 7000 supported devices, we realized that when it comes to platforms like iOS, people expect a fast, reliable experience and our iOS app was falling short.

He probably didn't mean to exclude Android in this case, although it is true. If you use Android and you care about your experience, sorry, you pick the wrong platform. Companies like Facebook prioritize platforms not based on the number of shipped devices.

BI found out why Facebook push employees to give up iPhone for Android:

Instead, Facebook management realizes its Android app is subpar—and believes that the only way employees will take fixing it seriously is if they have to deal with its issues day in, day out.

Sorry for poor Facebook employees. I don't think it's fair to do that to all employees though, maybe it's better to force only those people in their Android team.

The real question is why Facebook chose to update the iPhone app first but leave the Android app to be still awful. Too difficult? Nobody cares? What's your guess?

This issue has been reported in 2009 and it still hasn't been fixed. I thought Android is open so people can help improve it. But if they don't take suggestions, what's the point?

I have a different problem with my Nexus One though - it is NOT able to sync with network-provided time at all.

There is a brand that ranks the highest among manufacturers of smartphones in customer satisfaction, for a seventh consecutive time. It doesn't make Android phones.

This is my prediction of Samsung's next comparison chart against iPad, following this one.

Tim Cook's gripes about UI/UX of Android tablets

Apple CEO, Tim Cook, griped about Android tablets in his keynote introducing the new iPad.

He gave two examples, Twitter and Yelp, and compared them side by side on iPad and Android tablet (presumably the Samsung Galaxy Tab). He is right on the point, but there are not just these two. Many apps on Android tablets is just a stretched out version of its Android phone version, which already looks worse than its iOS counterpart.
