the last summery music recs

since we’re heading towards autumn soon, I’ll leave a few song recs that i listened a lot during this summer, some songs that imo we’re perfect for the season

disclaimer: all the recs will be of different genres and artists, its about what sounds like a summer track to me and consequently, what I listened during the season, be it for the melody, overall theme, etc.

this is an indonesian gg, and during this summer i was obsessed with their few songs, they have mastered the concept of island girl imo, and they have great vocals, i would recommend checking out their other tracks like “superstitious” and “fallin in love”.

i listened to “SEQUENCE 1” an insane amount of times, songs like “lettuce”, “bow chika wow wow” and “television” were on my rotation but this single was on loop for a while, I’m looking forward to f5ve’s next releases cause, for me, this was a very good pop album

for this one, the whole album transport you to a tropical resort vacation, its a summer album through and through. i would also recommend “crystal bay” and “escape & retreat”.

venus in the sea - ha vay

ha vay’s whole visual brand and just artistical identity, i adore. this song gives me the vibes of being by a riverside in a summer midday, i love it. and yeah, there are other songs by her that give me more of a autumn/spooky vibes ¿? but this particular one, for me, transport me to a different setting.

new finds: k-music edition #2

if you want something fresh from the korean music scene, here are some recs for y’all

bbb - hus (feat. chuu)

bubblegum kpop, with chuu’s lovely vocals, really cutesy melody and sounds, also its a pretty catchy tune to listen to

aqua blue - burbey

this track has some real retro sounding elements, a little city pop influence in there, keeping it summery and the little flute sound and saxophone make it jazzy and fun, love it, a great way to stand out from recent releases

snowy summer - close your eyes

this group is coming strong with a more r&b/2000s style, something really refreshing from a 5th gen group, and the mv begging reminds me a lot to shinee’s ‘married to the music’, fun storytelling in it. also, if you can check out ‘paint candy’, its another great track. and idk but to me, some tracks remind me of a ‘rewind’ by shinee vibe, that sort of sound.

new car - ryu sujeong

a soloist track, this is from a member of lovelyz, and I really liked the visual style of the mv, and the sound has an 80s feel imo, with synths and a groovy melody

birthday- the deep

for a more hyperpop/edm audience, the deep goes for this sort of sound. this track is her latest release, and I also recommend ‘sad girls club’, my favorite of hers. the mv is a blend of 2000s mcbling with a 2014 aesthetic, if anyone is into that sort of visual style

her - sumin, slom (feat. zion t)

the sumin and slom duo projects are top tier, this is their latest but miniseries 2 is my favorite album of them, songs like ‘tic toc tic toc’, ‘why, why, why’ and ‘endless night’ are my standouts (if you like wonder girl’s ‘rewind’ as much as me, PLEASE check ‘endless night’), I love the r&b, city pop ish sounds they have going on, definitely a unit to pay attention to

"Anna" is a super underrated Beatles song.

It's sad because the singer is losing a person and relationship that they care deeply about but like...it's so subtle and understated. Especially for a 50s style songs because breakup songs from the 50s are DRAMATIC. "Smoke gets in your eyes" anyone? And this one is so quiet. "If he loves you more than me, go with him."
