my favourite story is when my doctor was like she was in her third trimester, pregnant. I'd been seeing her for several years by that point. When i first started seeing her I was IDing as a guy.

"Is there any chance you could be pregnant?" ". . . No?" "When was your last period?" ". . . . . . Never?" She puts down her clipboard for a second and looks at me confused.

"Sarah, I'm trans, you knew me before I came out . . ."

"oh my god"

She held her head in her hands in embarrassment and disbelief that she'd forgotten and then blamed it on the memory issues that some people get when pregnant but I guess that also means that I was passing so that's nice lmao

OH okay now that i have polls i need to settle an old question

suppose you have an an axe. and the handle breaks. so you replace the handle. then the head rusts, and you replace it, too. then, the old, original handle and head are repaired and made into a new axe with the original materials.

Axe A is the axe made of the original materials, and Axe B is the axe that was slowly replaced and is the one you have used for years.

It's complicated, but my perspective is this:

I have this one necklace. It's super important to me. At one point, the chain broke, and I replaced it. I wore it for a long time after that. Eventually, the centerpieces started to chip and rust. I wanted to replace them, too.

I did, but it didn't feel the same, since it contained none of the old pieces... I opted to put the old pieces back together as best I could.

This updated necklace held an odd amount of sentimental value, despite technically being new. But it was still just that. New.

The old one sits aside, no longer in a state to be worn much, but it's a carrier of too many emotions to be disregarded.

I wear the "new" one everyday, often forgetting it's a replacement. I suppose I see it more as an extension, than anything else. However, I definitely don't see it as the original.

I think I had a unique introduction to the DSMP, at least, context wise.

Before getting into the SMP, I was very interested in Dream's Manhunt videos. Like many people. I planned on delving into the actual DSMP, but hadn't yet. Therefore, although I'd yet to watch any videos on it, I ended up reading a fanfic.

I don't remember exactly what the fic was, but it was an AU that took place in space. There was a killer, there was drama, and it was tense (like Among Us, lol.)

The most important thing here, however, was that it was written from Dream's perspective. Remember that I did not have knowledge about the DSMP's storyline, or his character. We saw things go from peaceful, to suddenly chaotic, filled with fighting, broken rules, and murder. He and the others in the Dream Team ended up killing, or otherwise harshly punishing, the people who they thought were behind this. Sure, it seemed a bit extreme, but with the context we had, and while seeing his emotions the whole time, it made sense.

These other characters were described as trouble makers, and dangerous, so on and so forth, in the past. And we seemed to have evidence to back this up!

Because of this, you could totally root for Dream! Yeah, fix things! Your methods may be a little dark, but you need to make things better again!!

(Note again, he wasn't strictly evil in this story, but walked a damn fine line at times.)

And I just think it's interesting how, while going in blind, I was left wholeheartedly hoping for Dream's success because of this narrative.

Then I got into the DSMP for real and was SHOCKED. The tables turned real fast, obviously, but I still feel like that allowed for a unique viewing experience. Just a bit.
