When you’re supposed to be in the writing zone, but inspiration hasn’t struck.
When you finally turn in that paper you’ve been working on for weeks.
When you want to test out that new waterproof notepad you bought.
When your BFF is deep in thought and makes fart noises without noticing and you can’t notice anything BUT the noises.
When you’re warm and cozy in bed and your cat is hungry.
I moved to the Bay Area recently, and thanks to the advice of some friends, I started watching a locally produced PBS show called Check, Please! Bay Area on KQED. It seems to have a cult following; maybe because of the amazing food photography or the sometimes-insane guests they have on.
But one of my favorite features of this show is the host, Leslie Sbrocco. She’s a little zany, a lot animated, and as a wine writer, she LOVES to drink. She makes some of the best GIFs I’ve made in a long time.
When all you want to do is eat and someone asks how could you possibly be hungry?
Speaking of pencils in TV shows, in Episode 3, Season 1 of Murder in the First, Warren Daniels, played by James Cromwell, is fidgeting with a Palomino Blackwing.
I've never even heard of Halt and Catch Fire until today, but here's a great GIF of Mackenzie Davis as Cameron Howe sharpening pencils out of boredom. Dixon Ticonderogas, by the look of the green ferrule.
