My piece for the show at @gallerynucleushappening on 5/31 in celebration of the 15th year anniversary of Adventure Time!

"Varmints" was my first Adventure Time storyboard and I always think of this episode as the starting point of my journey into animation. That's why I wanted to revisit it and look back on all that's changed since then.. which is A LOT-- I drew that storyboard on PAPER with post-it notes! 😩

Black melanistic Coyote.The coyotes in my area are 60 percent western coyote dna,20 percent Eastern Red-wolf dna,and 10 percent domestic dog dna.I know this because Game and Fish did testing.The Eastern Red-wolf dna came from an attempt at re-introduction of this endangered species to the Great Smokies National Park during the 90's.The wolves mixed with coyotes.NPS had to round up the remaining pure red wolves and move them to a place off the coast of North Carolina.

Where does the line between critter and varmint get drawn? Are all critters varmints? Are all varmints critters? How big does an animal have to be before its no longer in the critter category? Where do possums fall in this categorization? Inquiring minds want to know.
