The sun and the moon
The stubborn moon chased the sun whom escaped its embrace. With no avail, as skies turn shades of light, the moon retires. Woke from sleep by the crowd of twinkling stars, the moon takes path around earth to find its beloved.
Rarely do the moon and the sun meet, but when they do it is so lovely that it darkens worlds. And when they do the sun always questions, “the scars that burden you, do you not remember they were from me? Do you not know what will become of you? I run and run yet you follow closely behind. Why must you try?” The stubborn moon earnestly replies, “Because you are the brightest in my galaxy, among my darkness you light way. You will remain the one I chase - for you, and only you, are lovely to me. And until that day, of my death by you, I will not cease to trace your steps.”
And with that, they part ways only to start the cycle once more, each dreading the day yet to come.
