If you make a character (especially a woman!) Black in an adaptation, only to make their life infinitely worse or make them more hateable, I think no project you make should ever succeed again :)

Defending a Black female character from a piece of media I may or may not even consume, no matter what she does, because I know of the racist, misogynistic double standard that her actions would be perceived differently to the audience if she were a white man. Name the character, go:
This might sound wild but I don't want Trump to have the private data and health information of me and everyone else on my continent. Just isn't his business, you know? Thought he was 'America first'.
I am ready to support the beautiful nation of Mexico and its lovely people in their great battle with the uncivilized hordes of England. The world stands with you🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽
Once I'm marginally better I'm going out to take pictures. I love this stupid fucking city,
If you're still taking musician recs, then I can't recommend Aṣa enough. Kind of old school but she was foundational to my development. I'd describe her sound as a mixture of Soul, Afropop, Indie Pop, and R&B. Very beautiful acoustic melodies and an amazing voice. Sings in both English and Yoruba. And her new stuff is cool too. Leans more Afrobeats but incorporated into her style. https://open.spotify.com/track/7wzJU3nMhTRkgAMTpNiGMF?si=f544307cbd674f24
The way that 5000 Trump supporters and Klan members got drowned out during a really bad storm when they were gonna march in DC... and they had to seek shelter in the- wait for it-
The African American Smithsonian.
The writing hasn't been this good and pro-Black since Charlie got Kirked 🤣 But seriously, like... Imagine! Imagine marching in your hatred and fearmongering, having to seek shelter bc even nature rebuked your presence, AND you had to seek aid in a place where the people you hate... STILL gave you shelter. It couldn't be more obvious.
I think if staff couldn’t kick them out, these people should still be forced to write a 3 page paper (each) focused on one exhibit they had to interact with, if they wanted to continue staying
No phones, has to be written in pen, they have an hour time limit
"Change your heart or die" as I hand them the pen and paper
What’s funny? I know this is meant well, but it’s actually so depressing. Taking shelter in the institution that they’re determined to destroy…. I hope they receive everything that comes to them.
I wouldn't say I find it funny in a haha hehe way. Just more of an ironic, "of all things that could have happened to these people, with their horrible ends, this is what did. Forced to yield to the grace of the very thing they think is beneath them". I can understand that it's more upsetting that they are even there for you, though.
hi so recently there was a very strong earthquake in Venezuela that left so many people deeply affected including my family that lives there. The government obviously doesn't have the means to help its people with the current economic situation and all so I would really appreciate some monetary help as my grandpa and aunt are currently struggling, their home is barely livable at this point (theres multiple cracks in the infraestructure) and they're in dire need of basic need products (food is scarce due to the high demand) There's also some direct friends of the family that were deeply affected and I would like to help them too, any dollar or sharing helps
âž› here's my paypal
Happy 51st Independence Day Cabo Verde. I love you.
Fundraiser for victims in Venezuela
— We're college students within the country directly buying and delivering the aid needed around us.
— We keep a record of every transaction, purchase and delivery, so you can check anytime what we are doing with the donations.
— We help delivering food, medicines, hygiene kits and equipment to the victims, civilian volunteers and rescue teams.
How can you help?
You can share or donate (links under the cut)
Please share if possible to raise awareness. Sorry if this is off topic. There is currently extremely deadly flooding in West Africa.
This is in part due to climate change messing up the balance of the dry and rainy seasons. The floods have a ripple effect and are also causing landslides and other disasters.
People have died, and will continue to do so. Here are some news Articles: The Guardian RFI The Sun Nigeria PM News Nigeria Here are some charities you can donate to to help: Nigeria: The Borgen Project Ghana: NADMO CĂ´te d'ivoire: Disaster Relief
Togo and Benin are also severely affected. Please consider donating if you’re able or helping spread the word. I have a slightly longer post on my blog that I'll be updating if anyone needs more information.
Thank you for sharing! If you wanted to donate to a cause, consider one of these!

Eurasia is on fire. Earthquakes in Venezuela. Half of West Africa is flooded. People are suffering all over. Please help if you can.
I don't have high hopes for Ghana, so this world cup is over to me.
Cabo Verde won in my heart
Argentina I'll never ever forgive you for this
Non Black people are way too comfortable saying racist shit around me. Just because you frame it as being about Black Americans or Caribbeans or any other group doesn't mean I'm not going to check you. How could you possibly believe that being anti-Black around ME of all people would fly. Dumbass
