Salutations! My name is Fiz (she/her or zie/zier), I'm 25, and this is my blog dedicated to my World of Warcraft OCs!
I plan to be more active by adding my characters as pages to be viewed, as well as hopefully gain more people for the guild I run on retail World of Warcraft, Archivists of Azeroth, a magic, research, adventure focused and private roleplaying guild on Moon Guard. But, thanks to the pre-patch for The War Within, we are now cross-realm!
Here is Veralia Wardley, wife of Bernhardt Wardley and Queen of the Esoteric Sewing Society! Art was commissioned from goblingruel on X (take care in clicking that link, their art is VERY NSFW)
If you've ever roleplayed with Athi Restrull, you'll notice that she frequently makes references to a figure known as 'Sailor Elune'. But who is she? What is her story?
Well, I hope to answer these questions and provide information right here in this post!
So, first things first, Sailor Elune is basically Sailor Moon but in Azeroth. But, remember, the nightborne came from the highborne/night elves. Therefore, I knew I had to make two separate versions, one for the shal'dorei and the other, the original, kaldorei.
Kaldorei Version
This version of Sailor Elune is primarily focused as shows for young children, with audience participation, like Dora the Explorer. In this show, the audience helps Sailor Elune out through their participation:
Sailor Elune only transforms into Sailor Elune to defeat her foes with the help of the children cheering for her
Filcher the Thieving Druid is told off when the audience shouts 'Filcher, no filching!' when they see him trying to steal something.
Sailor Elune's animal companion is a young owl named Dorrie, who acts as a scout and friend to Sailor Elune.
Villains are based on powerful foes that were/are prominent enemies of the kaldorei, like Queen Azshara and most recently, Sylvanas Windrunner. However, they change the characters' names to not be so obvious, but everyone knows it.
Shal'dorei Version
This version of Sailor Elune is more mature, since it was tweaked to be entertaining to the children who were growing up and wouldn't be entertained by the original premise of Sailor Elune. Along with this, Sailor Elune had the power to go outside the barrier and allowed the writers to imagine what laid outside the barrier… most of the time, she faced demons and desolation.
Another difference is that, this Sailor Elune does, in fact, have a name: Saphi Nocthrin. But as time went on, it became abundantly clear that she could not be the only person the storyline centered on, and thus her love interest, Koro Telumein, and Starlight Sailors, or what they're mostly called by the fans, 'Starlights', were made:
Fadre Udrol
Lyandath Altra
Riadri Gostrelsar
Nieura Vonnith
The Starlights are Saphi's closest friends and confidants. However, in a controversial move by the writers, they were killed in the 2nd Legion Invasion. This loss was the catalyst for Saphi to swear herself to the service of Elisande. As a result, she lost the power of Elune, and was powered by the Legion instead. However, when Elisande was defeated, it was revealed that Saphi was brainwashed this entire time, and now had a clear mind and denounced Elisande. But, she was completely powerless. Then it was revealed the the Starlight Sailors weren't actually dead, but imprisoned and now were free.
This season is the subject of debate amongst the fandom as if it is canon or not, as many fans feel it butchered Saphi's character and also used cheap tricks for shock value.
But, the season that followed next has been well recieved and even hailed as a fresh take on Sailor Elune. Saphi has been struggling with what she did while swearing loyalty to Elisande. It was then revealed that she was brainwashed by Koro Telumein to follow Elisande, but in reality, he was dead all along. The person that manipulated and tricked her was a demon!
In this season, the first reoccuring hero character that isn't a Shal'dorei has appeared in the form of a blood elf demon hunter, Kelerea Dreadmourn, who also was briefly controlled by the Legion herself. The two of them formed a deep bond over time, as the two of them understand each other's pain in a way the Starlights don't. The Starlights have been filling the role of Sailor Elune in adventures across a more accurate Azeroth, but the Shadowlands episode was considered 'outlandish' and 'inaccurate'.
Much to the delight of shippers, this season ended off with Saphi and Kelerea kissing! Through this kiss, Saphi's powers were restored, but in a brand new outfit, implying that she isn't powered by Elune anymore.
There is a desire for the shal'dorei version to play shows outside of Suramar City, however, due to the fact the kaldorei have their own version, it's rather dicey. However, due to the reveal of Saphi's new Sailor outfit, there are rumors abound that there's going to be a name change...
Honestly, although I've written neurodivergent characters, it was easier because there is a label with it, and with it, symptoms. Ways I could write within the diagnosis!
Making Athi, I knew I wanted her to be physically disabled and a wheelchair user. The more I worked on her character, a headstrong, stubborn, but emotionally immature artificing prodigy, I realized something. I got hung up on her diagnosis— but Athi, simply put, does not care about her diagnosis. It is just how she lives, and she doesn't pay it much mind. Sure, she complains about it, but it's not like something she focuses on. She loves her wheelchair and how she can add rockets too it.
Hell, she completely tuned out her doctor when giving a diagnosis in favor of seething over a children's word-search puzzle.
there are moments i wish i had the dedication and patience to have an ask blog for my wow ocs (remember those days, folks? ask blogs?) because the things i imagine for my nightborne artificer prodigy is hilarious to me. her parents are swingers and when they bring it up shes just LALALALA I CANT HEAR YOU
I need to update this, I'll start by reblogging silly posts and then making pages about my main characters and OF COURSE for my guild Archivists of Azeroth!
[ Video Description: a tiktok by @/itismaxhooray featuring a person with pale skin, brown eyes, short, curly, brown hair and a thin beard, who's talking to the camera. Closed captions appear above them.
Person, nervous: Hi! I've never really posted a thirst trap before, so please, be kind.
Cuts to a thin, black rope made into a circle on the floor, as the person walks excitedly towards it.
Person: (mischievous chuckles)
They put a glass off water in the middle of the circle, then leave.
Person: (hums)
They place down a paper that reads "Free Water!" next to the cup. They vanish.
Her hair used to be taken care of, brushed, and then pulled back into the neatest of buns. That alone took a long time, much to the chagrin of her superiors.
Now it is infested with long dead leaves, and greasy. Her locks hang flat, and limp. Maybe its home to all sorts of creepy crawlies too.
Minalais took great care in her appearance... once. War was no excuse to neglect personal hygiene, she had told herself and her fellow soldiers. If they could see her now—
“No.” Her hands sign, of their own will. “No one must see. Never see...” She doesn’t even want to see her reflection, to see the face she had carefully memorized. It’s not her face. It’s someone else’s face, so gaunt, with gashes all over...
Where is that warrior? Where is the proud soldier under Ravencrest? Where is the face that looked more like stone than elf? The one with a stern, unforgiving gaze, with softness she only saved for her goddess? Where did she go?
...she died. Not even given proper tribute or burial, just left to rot at the edge of a warglaive. She can still see the face, the gold eyes...
“Don’t want this.” She signs, hands trembling. “Anything but this.”
The frigid mountain is steeped in silver light, causing her to look up at that familiar sight, of a grand, white, moon. That’s right...
Her fingers reach up, to the hair she tries to ignore, and begins to carefully comb it, her bony digits acting like a comb all of their own.
Walking through the streets of London is a garishly drabbed… someone. Her chartreuse eyes glow with an otherworldly light as her inhumanly long ears bounce with each step, denizens of the city parting before her. “Look at it, Sunshine!” She chirps to a ginger feline eagerly sticking her pink nose around, staring down strangers with jade eyes. “I’ve never even seen Gilneas before… It’s completely different from what I’ve imagined it!” She speaks with an accent that can only be described as an odd mix of Spanish and American. Bystanders whisper and look at her, unsure of what to make her, but the stranger doesn’t notice! In fact, she seems to be taking it in stride.
“The smell is Light-awful though… I think I would prefer the smell of wet dog.” She says to herself, and stops, peering down an alley. “Well, it sure does look familiar…” She steps down, walking with a bounce in her step. Her eyes are the only thing that glow in the dim of the alley, as she makes sure to step over broken bottles and puddles of what she hopes is just water. Thugs and other ne’er-do-wells creep closer to the stranger wearing gold, with an elegant silk bag.
“Oy, girlie…” A whisper from the shadows, and she stops in her stride.
“Hm?” Her head turns in the direction of the one who spoke. “Do… do you need some coin?”
“Depends on how much coin ye got…” They chuckle, and she tilts her head, tapping at her chin with her glove.
“Weeeeell… I think I can give you about… oh, ten gold? Or.. or is that too little? Or are there some other coins you use instead?”
“Golds fine, girlie…” They grin with broken and lost teeth that have long since been stained from booze. “In fact, why don’t ye give me all of it?”
“All… all of what?” Confusion crosses her features. “All of the gold in the world? Or—”
“Yer coin.” A glint in the alley, and before she knows it, a knife is being brandished her way, and when she looks back, she sees other criminals closing in on her.
The sensible thing to do in this situation is run, or if she were strong enough, she could fight them off. Instead, she gasps as if a light bulb went off over her head.
“Oooh! So this is why people don’t walk down weird alleys!”
Barok came upon the attempted mugging by chance, having passed the alleyway at the precise moment one of the thugs said “Depends on how much coin ye got”. He listened for a few moments more and, upon hearing the unfolding situation, then decided to intervene.
He stepped into the alleyway, which clearly registered with one of the gang as he turned to see who was approaching. Upon realising who it was, the man paled significantly, “… B..Boss,” he uttered, pawing at the one who was so intent on acquiring coin from the odd foreigner.
“What?!” he snapped, twisting to look at his underling; only to notice the Reaper and similarly pale, “O… Oh bollocks… not th’ damn reaper. Let’s leg it, boys!” they quickly dispersed, leaving their victim without a second look.
He watched them flee, “A word to the wise,” before turning his gaze to the… unusual foreigner, “Do not walk the back streets unless you know where you’re going and how to defend yourself…” he tilted his head, “I take it you are unharmed?”
The longer he spent trying to piece together where this particular person might have come from, the more confounding it was to try and pinpoint their origin. Their attire, their facial features; everything about them was unlike anything he’d seen before.
“I sure am, thanks!” She beams at him, visibly relaxing in his presence. “It sure was nice of you to help me out, sir death knight! Or is your name Sir Reaper?” Either way, she was a bit jealous of such a cool nickname. A ginger tabby, the only thing about this stranger that seems ‘normal’, is resting on her shoulders, stretched out and dozing away much like a scarf that hasn’t been styled.
Her chartreuse eyes begin to look over him from head to toe, before stepping around him, like a cat making paces around a floundering fish. “...where’s your armor? Are you off duty?” Then she pauses. “...no, you’re not a death knight at all. If you were, your eyes would glow...” She blinks again, and her gaze is fixed through the reaper. “But you got ghosts...” Her eyes squint. “...huh. I can’t see them anymore.” This visibly unnerves her more than the mugging. She leans in close, and sucks in a deep breath through her nose. “Oooh! You smell nice... yep, this is before the Cataclysm alright, and you’re definitely still alive.” The stench of undeath that she has become accustomed to is nowhere to be found, even in this alleyway that stinks of vomit and piss. Then as quick as a flash of lightning, she has a hefty violet leather bound tome in her hands. flipping through it. Book seems to do it a disservice given how massive it is, with many colored tabs sticking out of it. It is battered and well-worn, but still elegant, and oddly beautiful in an arcane sort of way. Any other soul would probably buckle under it, but she does not, clearly used to it.
“Let’s see... oh! Here it is.” She begins to read it, looking over it, and her face then falls. “Oh crap. Uhh... what year is this? Is it year 15? 18? Is the Greymane wall finished?” She looks up to the prosecutor for confirmation.
