My dad has bees. Today, I went to his house and he showed me all the honey he had gotten from the hives. He took the lid off a 5-gallon bucket full of honey and on top of the honey there were 3 little bees, struggling. They were covered in sticky honey and drowning. I asked him if we could help them and he said he was sure they wouldn't survive. Casualties of honey collection I suppose.
I asked him again if we could at least get them out and kill them quickly, after all he was the one who taught me to put a suffering animal (or bug) out of its misery. He finally conceded and scooped the bees out of the bucket. He put them in an empty Chobani yogurt container and put the plastic container outside.
Because he had disrupted the hive with the earlier honey collection, there were bees flying all over outside.
We put the 3 little bees in the container on a bench and left them to their fate. My dad called me out a little while later to show me what was happening. These three little bees were surrounded by all their sisters (all of the bees are females) and they were cleaning the sticky nearly dead bees, helping them to get all of the honey off of their bodies. We came back a short time later and there was only one little bee left in the container. She was still being tended to by her sisters.
When it was time for me to leave, we checked one last time and all three of the bees had been cleaned off enough to fly away and the container was empty.
Those three little bees lived because they were surrounded by family and friends who would not give up on them, family and friends who refused to let them drown in their own stickiness and resolved to help until the last little bee could be set free.
Bee Sisters. Bee Peers. Bee Teammates.
We could all learn a thing or two from these bees.
Bee kind always.
All of the Dracule Mihawk aka Vampire Husband/Daddy that I have on Treasure Cruise.
Absolute Universe Bruce having grown up on Crime Alley + having his first major villain be Black Mask + being far more violent... Close enough, welcome back Jason Todd
Let me tell you a story.
My husband recently left his job and started looking for a new one.
A particular company, who wanted his skills very much, actually contacted him three times when he posted on linkedin that he was looking for work (three different people DMed him without talking to each other lol).
When the CEO said « please send me your resume », my husband replied: « you HAVE it. I sent it weeks ago!! »
The CEO went « wait, what? How come I didn’t see it go through, you fill 100% of the job description?? ». Then he checked the resume filter algorithm, who gave my husband’s resume 4% and auto-rejected him.
They are no longer using automated processes to sort resumes.
this post is like a rorshach test that reveals people's psychosexual frustrations
Here's to every pet-related worker who has to deal with "Her name is BELLA you've seen her before just look her up." You're a real one. May you grow in power for every Bella in your system.
I don't say this to shame owners for their pets names. But please know that if you bring in your goldendoodle Bella, or your black cat named Loki, or your corgi named Ein - Please give staff some additional info to help locate your pet's information. Approximately 1/10th of that database is filled with pets who have the exact same name and breed as your animal, don't get mad if we can't find them immediately please.
The 605 Bella Smiths in our system would like a word with you.

Like, you try getting one Teddy at a doggy daycare/dog camp to listen to you when there’s three other Teddys in the group. They don’t know their last name. They’re all very cute names. But going out with the dogs at my job is like when I was a kid and literally ten percent of my class was named Jennifer.
I remember taking my cat, Steve, to an animal hospital. To my knowledge, there was not another cat named Steve MyLastName there. There was however a vet tech by the name of Steve MyLastName.
Apparently they distinguished them by calling them Human Steve and Cat Steve.
i do actually feel bad for chappell bc my dream is to be gay famous and my nightmare is to be actual famous and i think the same thing happened to her. she tried to be gay famous and accidentally became actual famous and now there’s no way out and now people care about her presidential endorsements
One unexpected thing about being on T is the way that cis men are also jealous of you
Trans men being jealous? Especially those who aren't on T yet? Yeah fair, expected that one
I did not expect cis men to start being like "how are you 4 months on T and already have a deeper voice and more facial hair than me" lmao
But also it really just goes to show you that testosterone affects everyone differently and that 100% includes cis men as well. Chances are that if you're dysphoric about your voice, height, etc. there is also a cis man out there rn insecure about the exact same things
Make your own 💀
Cisgender men are extremely jealous of the way I travel through Boston
Great post everyone, hit the showers
It's been nearly two weeks (somehow) since this monstrosity of a quilt was finally finished, and I wasn't able to get the BEST photos of it (it was too big and too heavy to hang up how I'd planned...) but here are the fullest and best examples of the final result..!
In regular light, with blacklight on, and the glow charged with the lights OFF!
This thing was... a journey, and one hell of a learning experience, but I'm overall happy with how it turned out. I am also very, VERY glad to be done with it lol
